With Sympathy

Hi there...back with another card to share today!  I have no sympathy cards in my stash so I knew I needed to change that...this time of year I seem to always need them.  I was looking around for a challenge to play along and the Inkspirational challenge was the perfect one.  I did try to color those flowers in, but let's just say...that wasn't a success

Happy creating friends!

Time Out: Heartfelt Condolences

Happy Friday Eve my friends, we're off to Arizona today for a wedding of our dear friend's daughter. Looking forward to getting a way for a bit!  But before we go, let's talk about the challenge over at Time Out! The challenge this week is to be inspired by this photo below.
You all know how much I love flowers and I went straight for the florals in the wall paper to make this sympathy card!

Our challenge is being sponsored by Happy Little Stampers. Please pop on over to their store here to check out all their fabulous stamps and I hope you are the lucky winner of this challenge that will receive a $20 gift certificate to their store.

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is  Ksenija. Be sure to stop on over to her incredible blog Sweet Kobylkin, to check out how she was inspired!

And of course, don't forget to stop over to Time Out to play along with us!

Time Out: Love You

It's time for a reminder post for our current challenge over at Time Out.  The challenge is:

And we have an optional challenge of a single layer card. I'm normally all about the one layer card but decided to go for a bit of a layer with this card. I love, love, love how this turned out!

Our sponsor for this challenge is Uniko. My card features the stamps from their Originally Organic set. I loved coloring gorgeous floral bloom. And finished things off with a touch of sequins and twine.

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is Kimberly. I am a long time fan of Kimberly's beautiful work.  Be sure to pop on over to Time Out and to Kimberly's blog at Wienerhoneymooners.

Time Out: With Sympathy

Happy Friday Eve my friends! Stopping in to remind you that we have a gorgeous inspiration photo for you for our current challenge over at Time Out!  Altenew is our sponsor and I have used the Beautiful Day stamp set for this sympathy card. Their stamps have the most amazing detail and stamped with Fresh Inks I think they are absolutely beautiful!

With Sympathy

Happy Sunday my friends. I know I say this every year, but I'm not sure how we are two weeks away from Christmas again!  I'm traveling for work this week, so am feeling even more rushed!  Lots to be done before Santa arrives at our house.  But!  I sneak in some crafting today. Trying to finish up the card sets my mum asked me to do for her friends.  So this sympathy card was made in multiples to put in the sets.

It was inspired by Anita's gorgeous card over at Muse this week. I love using challenges to jump start my crafting!

With Deepest Sympathy

Happy Wednesday my friends. Last day of work before the Thanksgiving holiday and I'm grateful!  Ryan gets home for the long weekend too...and I'm definitely looking forward to having a full house of boys.

My sympathy card stash never seems to stay full so I was in need of a card for a friend who lost her brother.  The CAS(E) this Sketch challenge was perfect to get my mojo going to create this card. Love that challenge!

Time Out: With Deepest Sympathy

We're back with another challenge at Time Out!  THEME Sympathy with the optional twist of distressing (using Distress Inks, distress edges, paper tearing etc).  I went along with the optional twist and used distress inks to ink up a sheet of paper and sprinkled some water on it before die cutting them with these fabulous Lawn Fawn leaf die cuts.  I have had these for about three years and love pulling them out each fall.  Used a little twine to finish this off.

I hope that you can come play along with us. We're sponsored by Happy Little Stampers.  And the winner (who optionally twist) is eligible for a $15 gift certificate to their store.  Sue is also our guest designer and you will love her gorgeous designs.  Be sure to pop on over to her blog too!

With Deepest Sympathy

Okay...so I know this is a sympathy card and the inspiration photo is a wedding inspiration photo, but doesn't this gorgeous die shout out to be played with using the inspiration photo below?  Yes...that is what I thought too!  These are my first stamps/dies from Pinkfresh Studio and I'm in love. They are gorgeous and I can't wait to ink them up often. I was inspired by the gorgeous cards Amy made for their most recent launch and had to immediately order them!

So...here you go...my amazingly talented friend Jen is guest designing over at Inspired By All the Little Things so I hope you get to play along too.  Happy creating!

Curtain Call: With Sympathy

It's time for another fun inspiration photo at Curtain Call!  Don't you love all those fun pastels in the inspiration photo?  I am still on the bandwagon with all the fabulous butterfly stamps and dies that exist.  How about you?

I actually made my card at my crafty weekend away a few weeks ago using the amazing Birch Press dies!  They have so many very cool layering dies.  And I love how it is easy to add so much depth by the different colors. My dear friend, Tracey, designs for them and Birch Press was so generous to donate dies for those of us who went away on our crafty weekend. How awesome is that?!

I'd love for you to come on over to Curtain Call and play along with us!  The LEAD of this challenge will be invited to be a guest designer in an upcoming challenge!  And while you are checking out all the fabulous design team member cards, be sure to welcome our guest designer, Marcie Sharp of Sharp Designs.  Marcie and I were so lucky to meet in real life!  You will love her gorgeous designs so be sure to stop on by!

PTI: With Sympathy

Happy Monday!  Hopefully you are off for President's Day today...and not like me and are at work for the day. Popping in with one more card for the PTI anniversary challenges. My card today is inspired by Debbie Olsen's card for 2007. Love the pink and green flowers and the movement the card creates. Playing with two PTI sets for this card: Art with Heart and Graceful Greetings.  Happy Monday and happy creating my friends!  xx

Grace to Help in Time of Need

I have less than ten cards in my stash right now...yes crazy I know...so I've been making cards as I need them.  I actually bought one card over Christmas...can't remember how many years it as been since I did that!  Working to find the time to rebuild my stash vs. making as I go.

So this card is for a very tragic situation.  A prior co-worker and very dear friend of mine lost her daughter (in her mid 30s) suddenly last week to severe pneumonia. So upsetting to hear this news and my prayers are with my friend and especially her grandchildren.  My friend has a strong faith so I thought this verse from one my first Verve sets would convey a message of love and strength to her.

I played along with CAS(e) this Sketch for my card.

Curtain Call: Heartfelt Condolences

Welcome to the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!

This week we are inviting you to join us for...

Please excuse that my picture is not clear!  Took this right before we moved and ran out of time to get another picture before it went in the mail. I was inspired by the woodgrain and decided to use a scrap of wood paper I had left.

So Sorry For Your Loss

Happy Tuesday. For the next four Tuesdays, I'm going to pop in and share cards from the October Frantic Stamper release.  This card features the new Birch Tree Forest Die.  It has several birch tree dies and a handful of adorable woodland animals. Instead of making a Christmas card, I decided to use this set to make a sympathy card. Love the tone on tone feel of the cream birch trees on the white. Feels very soft and serene to me. And of course, you know I love non-bulky cards that are super easy to mail.

With Sympathy

Happy Sunday my friends.  I was up super early yesterday (my internal alarm has been going off at 4:30/5 am - yuck!) so I figured I might as well get up and craft.  I am past due sending a sympathy card to a friend who lost her sister to cancer. She fought so hard for so many years.  The Muse Challenge was the perfect challenge to play along. I liked the neutral color palette and the way the sentiment slightly overlaid the die cuts. My card used stamps instead of dies. Love how CAS both cards are.  Hope that your weekend is a relaxing one!

Forever in Our Hearts

There is something about a clean craft room that inspires me to create!  And a fabulous inspiration photo never hurts either.  When I saw the current challenge over Inspired by the Little Things I knew immediately which set I wanted to pull out to play along. This card very quickly came together and is already in the mail for a co-worker who lost his 95 year old father last week.  His stories of his dad's love filled life were beautiful.

Praying for You

It's been a few months since I've played along with a PTI Blog Hop, but I couldn't stay away from the inspiration photo. These colors are some of my favorites.  I made this card before the Stamp-a-Faire challenges so I was itching to play with my new goodies too. Think you can tell that I took the inspiration pretty literally too. Love these stencil dies!  It also never hurts to have an extra sympathy/get well/praying for you card in the stash.

I hope you have hopping along to see how everyone was inspired!

Fusion: With Deepest Sympathy

Be sure to play along with us over at Fusion...look at this gorgeous cake we have to inspire you.  I quickly thought of this PaperTrey Ink set for this challenge and had fun mimicking the lovely blue flowers. I'm always in need of sympathy cards so I was happy to add this one to the stash and hopefully it will stay there for a long time.
PROCEDURES:
1. Play with just the sketch challenge.
2. Play with just the inspiration photo challenge.
3. Or you can create FUSION by combining BOTH challenges into one card.
4. Use the challenge graphic and link back to Fusion in your post.
5. Please read the other considerations on the Our Rules Page before playing along.
Pop on over to the Fusion Blog to check out the fabulous cards by our design team showing you how it works!

Happy Birthday and Serenity Prayer

In addition to Ryan's prom, I had a 50th birthday party to attend for one of my dear friends, Candice. Instead of a 50 card, I made her a traditional card. She likes to craft too so I know she'll appreciate the card.  We had a great time celebrating her...and best of all she was surprised. Love that her kids planned her party for her along with her dad.

While I had the floral stamps out, I made a second card. I'm using this card as a sympathy card for a dear friend who lost her dad to brain cancer.  Sending lots of love to her.

With Deepest Sympathy

As soon as the CASE this Sketch came out this week, I knew I wanted to play along with this PTI set.  It reminded me of a quilted background.  Unfortunately, I'm in need of three sympathy cards to send so it was definitely going to be a sympathy card.

In happier news, we are enjoying all the end of the year activities with the boys. Lots of choir concerts, prom and on the 28th Ryan's graduation.  We're cherishing it all!  I've been getting my Project Life pages up to date (still love that app!) and thought I'd share one of  my favorite pictures of the last several weeks. Love, love, love my boys.

And here's a few more...
