Call to Me

Happy Friday my dear friends!  Are you all ready for the new year?  I'm one of the lucky ones (just kidding!) that has a very busy job this time of year so I've been at work for four days this week.  I'm looking forward to another three day weekend to spend with family and friends.

Before I head off to work, I thought I'd share a quick card for the current Wee Memories Challenge.  I'm keeping it ultra simple using My Mind's Eye paper and highlighting this gorgeous Verve stamp.   Hope you all have a fabulous Friday and have fun plans for your New Year's celebration!

Ornaments!

Hi there, I'm officially finished with Christmas cards, but I definitely am in need of a lot of tags!  So, when I saw this week's Wee Memories Challenge, I decided to make a few tags for some Christmas presents for co-workers.  For this one I used one of my favorite Hero Art Script stamps for the background and then added a couple of stamps from last year's PTI Tag Set.  Quick and easy to make these in mass production!

The little boys have also been having fun making Christmas ornaments.  They made three each of the snowflakes with their pictures (one for each Nana and one for us!). Then on Sunday, I found Collin and his friend, Logan, in the craft room making more!  I love the sweet snowman Collin drew!  And...can you tell he LOVES Stickles?!

Celebrate!

Hi there!  Happy Friday!  It's been a super busy week both at work and at home, so I'm popping in quickly to share a couple of birthday cards I made last weekend at our scrapbooking weekend.  I'm entering these over at this week's Wee Memories Challenge.  Both cards are using new paper from Simple Stories and very minimal stamping.  Of course, I had to add ribbon.  You all know I love ribbon! And..it is nice to take a bit of a break from Christmas cards!

Hope your weekend gets off to a great start! We'll be celebrating Jonathon's 11th birthday on Sunday!  Hard to believe my little brown eyed boy isn't so little anymore!

Celebrate the Season

When I get new goodies, I like to use them right away.  So...I've had the new PTI wine bottle tag die for a few weeks and it had yet to be christened in my Sizzix machine :)  This week was it was time for its christening :)!  I kept the tag very simple making holly leaves from my Verve New Mercies set by adding a few gems and then adding the PTI sentiment.  With this particular bottle of wine though it may be better to have created a baby tag!  Don't you love the foot!  Cheap wine, but it tastes good!
And here is a close up of my entry for this week's Wee Memories Challenge!

Happy Birthday and Halloween Pictures!

Hi there, I'm popping in with a card for this week's Wee Memories Challenge. It is sponsor by Jay Gee's Nook. I love Judith's style over at Jay Gee's Nook so I definitely wanted to play along this week.

My card actually uses several scraps of patterned paper and they were perfect for making a couple of easy banners, added a couple of buttons, a bit of twine and I have a birthday card ready to go.
Now...on to some Halloween pictures!  We had three separate sets of tricker or treaters this year:  Jonathon and Emma; Collin, Marcel, Logan and Chloe; Ryan and friends (there was a much larger group, but they came through too fast).  Don't you love Marcel's power ranger pose?
We are very blessed that our niece, Olivia, the adorable little eskimo, lives in our neighborhood. We caught up with her towards the end of the night.  Marcel had to count his candy.  I think he made it to about 20 before he started eating it!
I love this picture of Marcel in the bottom right...oh so sweet!  And Mr. Luigi (Collin) I had to use eyeliner at the last minute for his mustache...we couldn't find the one that went with the costume...woops...

Thanks Ever So Much

Hi there...we arrived home safe and sound from Chicago yesterday afternoon and I had a little time to get inky.  I decided to pull out my Ranger distress inks and create a very fall thank you card.  I love the gorgeous fall colors and tried to recreate them on  my card for this week's Wee Memories Challenge.  The challenges is sponsored by Paper Smooches.  I love the big PS sentiments...

Now...back to Chicago!  I mentioned last week that I was going to meet up with Cristina Kowalczyk.  We met for breakfast on Sunday morning.  I really wish we lived closer as I know we'd have a ball crafting together and sharing stories about our families.  Like me, Cristina, is very close to her mom and we loved talking about our families.  Her little girl, Sofia, is beyond adorable.  So petite and absolutely beautiful with big huge brown eyes.  She was a bit shy...otherwise I would have carried her around with me!  Here's hoping that we can get together again soon.

That's all for today folks...I'll be back soon with more photos from our Chicago trip.

Happy Birthday

Ingredients:  Stamps:  Verve and PTI Daily Design Sentiments; PTI Twine; Ranger Inks and Canvas; PTI Woodgrain Impression Plate

A Passion for PaperTrey and Wee Memories are both hosting a challenge for the men in our life.  I certainly have my share :) so I can always use more cards for my guy card stash!  I am adoring my PTI impression plates. I'm not sure why I waited so long to get them, but they have been getting a work out from me. I kept this card nice and clean.  Woodgrain impression plate with a bit of Ranger Antique Linen ink. I stamped some leaves on canvas using a couple of different colors of ink, fussy cut them and attached them with some twine.

Let's Chat

Ingredients:  My Mind's Eye Lime Aid Fly a Kite Paper; PTI Grunge Me and Birthday Bash Sentiments

Ladies...before I get to my card today, let's chat.  How many of you are clean desk/work area freaks?  The older I get, I find that I can't start working unless my desk/work area is clean.  I simply can't.  And...I think it is getting worse.  At work, I have to have a clean desk before I can dig into a project.  Same at home when it comes to creating cards.  I must have a clean work area.  Anyone else in the same boat?  What's your favorite organizational tip for your craft room?  I'm about to purge and reorganize...I can feel the need to do this coming.  Too many things I can't find lately or things I know I won't use because I've been hitting Archiver's and on-line shops a little too often.  I'd love to hear your feedback.

Now...onto my card above.  This was for my dear friend, Sandy.  We're going to catch up tomorrow for lunch and a pedicure.  I sent this card to her earlier in the week so I think she's received it by now!  I'm entering it for the current Wee Memories Challenge.
