Totally Hues Challenge #7

Hi there!  I'm all messed up this week.  The four day work week has me completely confused on what day of the week it is!  I'm popping in at the last minute with a card for the current Totally Hues Challenge.  The stamp set is the PTI Anniversary Set.  I love the versatility of the flowers.  I'm thinking I'll get a lot of use out of this. I also really like that the sentiments are in two different fonts.    Hope your week is zooming by too!  I'm typing this on Wednesday night after baseball...time to go get some very dirty little boys in the bath tub and off to bed!

Totally Hues Challenge #6

Hello there...Happy Friday!  Are you at home watching the Royal Wedding?  Or...like me getting ready for work?  Wherever you are, I hope you are having a fabulous start to your weekend.  I'm really hoping that the sun makes a long appearance this weekend.  We haven't played a single game of baseball this week and we need to get some games in soon.  The makeup schedule is getting out of hand.  And...I am running the first leg of a marathon relay on Sunday morning (7+ miles) and I really hoping it is nice out!

So...onto my card.  Another CAS card for this week using awesome colors from Heather's Totally Hues Challenge.  I love everything damask.  I typically think soft colors when I think damask but like how they look with these bright colors.  Let me know what you think.
Ingredients:  PTI Damask Designs; The Twinery Twine; Stampin' Up Old Olive, Tempting Turqoise, Regal Rose and Basic Black Ink

Serenity Prayer

Happy Friday...I'll be hopping on a plane early this morning to head home from a work trip.   Looking forward to getting home and catching up on a few things this weekend.  My card today is for the most recent Totally Hues Challenge.  Clearly, I continue to be on a ribbon kick using up some more of my favorite Stampin' Up ribbon and playing along with more delicious Verve stamps.  If you look closely, you'll see I also embossed the pink panel.  Any tips out there for making the embossing folders really pop on your paper using a Sizzix?  Mine don't seem to emboss as well as others I've seen out there in blog land.

Short and sweet today since I'm on the road...Have a fabulous weekend!

PS Glad to see I'm not the only preppy 80s girl out there...loved your comments from yesterday!  Jill...I loved Pappagallo...what an awesome job! :)

Facebook - A Love Hate Relationship

Before I share my card for Heather's challenge, I have some random thoughts on Facebook.  I'm trying to decide whether I like it or hate it.  Love/hate in my title is a bit strong...but I've been pondering whether I want to stay on it.  Reasons why I like it:  1) Chatting with my relatives in England that I don't get to talk to on the phone that often.  2) Seeing pictures of my friends and their families that live far away.  3) Organizing get togethers with local friends.  Reasons I don't like it  1)  People who post statuses ten times a day;  2) People who post negative comments (as I sit and type a love it/hate it post...I realize that statement is contradictory) 3) Recognizing that I spend too much time looking at Facebook and clicking on people's statuses/pictures that I will probably never see or talk to on the phone or via email.   So...I sit here pondering about Facebook.  I've decided to hide the negative posts of those who regularly are negative in their status updates and I'm going to think about who I friend.   I adore blogging...it is definitely my preference over Facebook...allows me to connect with friends and family...both old and new.  I'll keep thinking about Facebook...

Now...onto my card for Heather's challenge...Challenge #2...I used Heather's design again...and kept it clean and simple with my Practicing Creativity stamps.

Gratitude...

As I mentioned on this post, I love Heather's blog.  So, I was thrilled to play along with her first color challenge.  She ties bows so perfectly so of course, I had to tie a bow too!  This color combination made me happy!

I thought this sentiment on the Verve stamp went perfectly with the floral blossom. Spring is coming...I keep telling myself that anyways!
Ingredients:  Stampin' Up Whisper White, So Saffron and Regal Rose Paper/Ribbon; Stampin' Up Basic Black, Tempting Turquoise and Old Olive Ink; Verve Stamps; PTI Larger than Life Stamps; Kaiser Kraft Gems
