I Am Blessed

A couple of weeks ago I ran across the street to Subway to get some lunch.  As I was waiting to pay, I was making chit chat with the woman in line behind me.  I asked, "How are you?" And she responded, "I am blessed."  I've thought about her response a lot.  Most people just respond, "Good thanks or fine thanks...how are you?"  Her response was powerful to me.  I am blessed.  Three very simple words.  They have made me reflect the many ways that I am blessed.  How are you blessed?  I'd love to hear from you!

I also have another card for you today for the Viva La Verve Sketch Challenge.  This gorgeous design was from won of my favorite blogging buddies, Maureen.  Along with getting me completed addicted to Verve Stamps, she has encouraged me to get on SplitCoast Stampers and play along with the Verve challenges.

Serenity Prayer

Happy Friday...I'll be hopping on a plane early this morning to head home from a work trip.   Looking forward to getting home and catching up on a few things this weekend.  My card today is for the most recent Totally Hues Challenge.  Clearly, I continue to be on a ribbon kick using up some more of my favorite Stampin' Up ribbon and playing along with more delicious Verve stamps.  If you look closely, you'll see I also embossed the pink panel.  Any tips out there for making the embossing folders really pop on your paper using a Sizzix?  Mine don't seem to emboss as well as others I've seen out there in blog land.

Short and sweet today since I'm on the road...Have a fabulous weekend!

PS Glad to see I'm not the only preppy 80s girl out there...loved your comments from yesterday!  Jill...I loved Pappagallo...what an awesome job! :)

Not Quite Navy, Navy!

Lots and lots of navy on this card...and although my sentiment is a bit crooked I am pleased with the way the card turned out.  Like the monochromatic look!

Have a great start to your week everyone and thanks to Stampin' 411 for the sketch inspiration!

Mercy's Challenge

The Serenity Prayer is one of my favorite prayers. Keeps things in for perspective for me. I purchased this stamp over five years ago and still use it multiple times a year. At first I wasn't too pleased with the way the card was turning out, but really liked it when I added the ribbon! I'm sharing this as a participant in Mercy's challenge!
