Time Out: Happy Mother's Day

Happy Friday Eve!  Our family is off on vacation this week so I'm popping into share a card for this week's challenge over at Time Out! We have a fun inspiration photo below that can take you all different directions!  I decided to play off the flowers in the inspiration and am using sponsor stamps - Botanical Rose Garden 2 from Top Flight Stamps.

Please come on over and check out the challenge at Time Out and the fabulous creations by our design team!  Looking forward to seeing what you have created!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all of the amazing mom's out there!  I hope you've had a day of spoiling by your family.  We had lunch at my brother's and it was super relaxing...followed by a nap this afternoon and a trip to Kohl's for Collin because he has officially outgrown just about everything he owns!  I made this card back on my stamping weekend away back in March.  Not enough crafting going on lately but I am hoping to change that very, very soon!

Ryan was home for a week in between the end of spring semester and going back to OU for a summer class and working. Collin is off to Washington DC this week for his 8th grade trip...and I have a feeling these family photos will be fewer and fewer as everyone continues to grow up. So I certainly cherish them.

Time Out: Happy Mother's Day

Hi there!  It's time for the reminder post at Time Out!  I'm so pleased that our challenge is to case the fabulous Hannalie. I adore Hannalie's style and have been a long time follower of her blog. She has a beautiful style and works magic with her Silhouette and digital sentiments.  I was inspired by the lattice type background and the gorgeous florals so I decided to make two mother's day cards...one for my mum and one for my mother-in-law (she loves blue!).

Here's a bit about Hannalie's card in her words:  My card  (as many other of my cards) shows my love for combining digital elements with conventional cardmaking methods. The lilies are a digital stamp . I decided to leave it uncolored and only added color to the BG by blending distress inks. The sentiment is my own design. I created a "window",  cut with my silhouette cameo and I layered it over the blended BG. I finally added some splatters to add some interest.

Be sure to come play along with us at Time Out! We are sponsored by Happy Little Stamper and the winner will receive a $15 gift certificate.  We'd love to see you there!

Curtain Call: Happy Mother’s Day

It's time for a new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge! I loved all the beautiful florals and polka dots in the inspiration photo.  My mother-in-law loves everything blue so I picked up on the blue in the inspiration and use Altenew stamps to make a mother's day card for her.  I know she'll love the gorgeous detail in the stamps and of course, the color!

We've had a wonderful weekend with jazz band concerts, my niece's graduation and a show choir fundraiser. I'm off this morning bright and early (actually by the time this posts I should be finishing!) my four half marathon. Hopefully the rain stays away!

Make sure you visit each of the designers' blogs for more inspiration!

You're an Amazing Mum

Happy Monday my friends.  I had a super relaxing Mother's Day that started off with mass and a nice lunch with our family.  Man oh man are by boys growing. I look tall in this picture, but they are all sprouting!  It was so nice to not spend the day running around.  A perfect mother's day in my book.  Marcel's card was hilarious, "You sparked my life and that is why I love you."  I'll miss the days when I get hand made cards from them. Thankfully Pat has taught them all to make cards and I love receiving them.

Here are the cards I made for my mum and mother-in-law.  Two one layer cards perfect for the One-Layer Simplicity challenge.  The first one was for my mum and the second for Pat's mum (she loves blues!).  I hope you had a fabulous mother's day too. I'd love to hear your favorite memory!

For You Mum

Happy Monday my friends.  We had a gorgeous weekend to celebrate mother's day here.  Pat's mom was out and about with Pat's brothers so we had my mum over for dinner.  Earlier in the day, my mum and I snuck in manicures and pedicures. The perfect way to spend the day after being woken up with bed in breakfast from Pat and the boys.  My mum reads my blog each day so I'm sharing her card the day today instead of yesterday.  I love all the fun ways you could use the current CAS(E) this Sketch.  I had fun with my Avery Elle floral stamps and my CAS-ual Fridays sentiment. Love having a mum stamp for my mum!  Love you tons Mum!

Happy Mother's Day

Hello friends!  I hope everyone is having an absolutely wonderful Mother's Day today!  The boys started my day with breakfast in bed and handmade cards from all of them. Marcel's card made me laugh...he filled out a question and answer sheet from school and it said, "My mom is smarter than a bumble bee."  Love their analogies. The best is them explaining why they wrote/colored something just for me.  Makes my heart so happy!

I had some time to craft this morning so I'm popping it to share two cards.  The first is for Pat's mom.  She loves all things blue so of course her mother's day card had to have blue on it!  It follows the Fusion Card Challenge Sketch.

The card below is for a dear friend who recently lost his dad to dementia.  So sad, but also a blessing for him.  He was very devoted to his father.  This card is inspired by CASE this Sketch and Maile's fabulous CASE Study card that is a gorgeous tone on tone sympathy card.

Enjoy your beautiful Mother's Day!  I'm off for a pedicure with my wonderful mum in just a bit!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all of my mum, mother-in-law, nana and all my dear blogging friends out there celebrating today.  I hope you have a day filled with lots of pampering.  I'm having a very lazy morning after bacon and eggs in breakfast...of course with a fountain diet coke to go along with it.  And my two little guys made me sweet homemade gifts from school.  Pat will be making his yummy flank steak for all our mums and me tonight.  We are so blessed to have both of our mums very, very close by!

I also wanted to share my little guys first baseball season with you.  He has been so anxious to play baseball after watching his older brother's play.  I missed his first game when I was in England but made the two games this week.  He is pretty interested in the dirt on the field (who can blame him), but oh my is there anything cuter than a little guy in his baseball uniform?  It's coach pitch for the five pitches and then they bring out the tee...he hit off the tee :)  When he runs to first base, his smile is simply precious and he jumps in the air onto first base.  Cracks me up.   Do you think he can see out from under his baseball hat?  I'm so blessed to be able to watch my boys grow up before my eyes.

And I thought I'd leave you with two mother's day cards that will be given today.  Yes Aimes..you really do need these WPlus9 dies! :)

Just Us Girls: 3D/Template Challenge

It's Saturday and it is Just Us Girls time.  Before I get to my post, I have to say a sad good bye to Pam.  Pam is the founder of the Just Us Girls blog and is an amazing person.  She has to be one of the kindest people I've met during my time blogging.  She will be missed terribly, but I wish her only the best of luck and all the happiness in the world.  She is a gem!  Pam...here's hoping you miss us and decide to come back very soon!

And...Pam is our host this week!  Our challenge is to make a 3D/Template for Mother's Day.  I made this card and matching candle for one of the two nana's in our lives (my mum or Pat's mum).  The color combo would actually go in either of their homes!  This is a pretty open challenge and we'd love to see what ideas you have!  Here are close ups of the card and candle.
Please stop by and check out the gorgeous creations from the other design team members!

Happy Mother's Day (again :)!)

Good morning, now that Mother's Day has passed, I can pop in and share my mum's Mother's Day card!  She is a regular blog reader so I couldn't post it earlier.  I'm entering my card for my mum and for my mother-in-law in this week's Wee Memories Challenge

My first card is using paper and embellishments from the Crate Paper Restoration Collection.  This is one of my all time favorite packs of paper and it is just about all used up.  It was perfect that it came with a teapot chipboard sticker as my mum loves her tea!  She starts her day with a cup of tea and has many cups throughout the day.

My dear mother-in-law's card is using some of the My Mind's Eye So Sophie papers and embellishments.  Love the soft traditional color tones in this.  Blue is one of her favorite colors too, so I added a touch of blue Bazzill ribbon.

Hope you enjoy the cards today!  I'm off to work...and then at lunch leave for jury duty!  Fun...!

Happy Mother's Day (And MTME Pretty Palette Challenge!)

Good morning, before I get to our challenge for today, I wanted to wish my mum a very Happy Mother's Day!  Not only is she my mum, but she is a true friend.  We laugh together, cry together and love one another so deeply.  And, she is an amazing Nana.  My boys adore her.  There are simply not enough words to say how much I love her.  I am also super blessed to have a great mother-in-law whom I love very much.  Happy Mother's Day to my mum and mom-in-law!

Staying on Mother's Day, how many of you mums out there have gone to your child's classroom for Mother's Day activities this week?  I went to Collin's class on Friday.  I love when they write things about you.  Here are a few funnies according to Collin:  I weigh 663 lbs (holy cow!); I am 43 years old (I'm 40...so that wasn't too bad); My favorite show is SportsCenter (I do like sports...but I guess that is what your children think sports are your favorite when you live will all boys!) and my favorite from Marcel is that hethinks I'm pretty "when I give butterfly kisses."  Butterfly kisses are part of our night time routine.  Their little notes made me smile.

Now onto the challenge for today! It's time for our next My Time Made Easy Pretty Palette Challenge.

I like to make card sets for gifts.  Whether for teachers (yes, the end of the school year is almost here again), hostesses or friends, I love to make them.  This week, for the first time, I used the SCAL software for my Cricut.  I think the Cricut machine has officially moved to a new home in our office next to the laptop.  The SCAL software cut out these little note cards and the top layer of patterned paper so quickly using the Creative Card Set from MTME.  A whole new world of creating just opened with being able to use the MTME sets and a variety of items on my Cricut without buying a whole punch of Cricut Cartridges!  The patterned paper is Basic Blooms.  I love the fresh pattern on the paper.
Here's the set of four cards.  Perfect to put with a little gift!
Ingredients:  Cardstock:  Stampin' Up Very Vanilla and Green; MTME:  Beautiful Blossoms DSP; Ribbon:  Stampin' Up Very Vanilla and PTI Twine; Pearls:  Kaiser Kraft; Buttons: Making Memories; Sentiment:  MTME Sentimental Occasions

Happy Mother's Day!

Good morning!  I hope everyone is having a wonderful Mother's Day!  I was woken up by my boys with donuts and a Diet Coke (my version of coffee!) along with very sweet homemade gifts from each of the boys!  Painted flower pots, a recipe book, why I love mom paintings...adorable!  We're off to church in a little bit and then will have brunch with both of our moms.  Looks like it is going to be a beautiful day.

Here is my mom's Mother's Day card inspired by the Stampin' 411 sketch.

Last Monday, I went to Marcel's pre-school class for his Mother's Day party.  I love when children sing.  They sang with their class first...You Are My Sunshine and a few other songs and then sang with the pre-k class.  Here's Marcel giving me the thumbs up on his performance!
Love the belly shot of the little boy on the left!

His teacher made a wonderful gift for us too!  This little stone which is proudly displayed in our front walkway...look at all the details they did with Marcel's little hands!
