Time Out: Gra[dad]itude
It's time for another challenge at Time Out! I'm back with a card for the reminder post...made several weeks ago for my father in-law for Father's Day. Cornelia is our CASE designer and you can check out her blog at Stempel Spass. She made this super fun card below. I had fun picking up on the bird and woodgrain and making a card for Pat's dad!
For our challenge, we are being sponsored by Happy Little Stamper and the winner will receive a $15 gift certificate. Be sure to come on over to play with us at Time Out!

Best.Dad.Ever.
I love CAS(e) this Sketch. I don't get to play there every week, but I would be a happy camper if I could. When I was creating this weekend, I was in need of a Father's Day for Pat. He indeed is the best father I could ever ask for the boys. As I speak, he is down in the basement helping Collin with his lines for Willie Wonka. He is always helping them out with one thing on another. Love him to pieces. Green his favorite color so this came together quickly...and of course, he enjoys a good beer too! So...easy peasy! Ryan came down and was talking to me as I was making cards and he gave it the two things up too :)!

Curtain Call: Happy Dad’s Day
It's time for a new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge! It's the first of June and the perfect time for a masculine themed challenge! My father and mother-in-law have lots of nautical themed pictures in their home so this is the perfect inspiration to make a father's day card for Pat's dad. He'll appreciate the nautical feel. I love giving him cards because he always appreciates what goes into them too!
Make sure you visit each of the designers' blogs for more inspiration!

Gra[dad]itude
Popping in with a just for fun card that I made at my stamping weekend in February. A couple of years ago when I gave Pat a Father's Day card with a tie on it he was fairly quick to say he doesn't wear ties...so that will be the last tie card he receives. Beer and pretzels...much more up his alley!

PaperSmooches: You Are Amazing!
Happy Father's Day my friends! We'll be celebrating Pat and his dad today. Today's PaperSmooches Sparks Anything Goes challenge is a card for my hubby. I think he is pretty darn amazing and he is incredibly handy. Right now he is the process of flipping a house so this card is very fitting for him to tell him how much amazing of a dad I think he is to our boys. Last year I made him a card with ties and he didn't seem to appreciate it since he never wears ties...woops!
The following PaperSmooches goodies were used on this card.

Father
Happy Tuesday...back today with another post highlight the fabulous dies from Frantic Stampers. My father-in-law has sailboat pictures all over his house. He loves the look of the water and a beautiful sailboat. He is a gem of a person to all those in his life and certainly is an anchor of my husband's family. For his card, I kept the card ultra CAS and left sailboat die cut in laid in the white card stock. The card was finished off with the sentiment a simple sentiment and a border of patterned paper. The detail in the die is gorgeous.
For my second card that will likely go to my hubby, I went for a very colorful result using a mix of patterned papers and a touch of stamping. It's great to stretch your supplies and see how you can create a completely different look with the same die cut.

You are the Best Dad
As I mentioned yesterday, Pat's father's day card was made on Saturday. I played along with the CAS-ual Fridays challenge to use ribbon on a guy's card. The touch of chevron ribbon was used in place of use patterned paper. I still love this Craft's Meow set. It's been getting a ton of inky time with me lately. Pat laughed that I put ties on his card as he rarely wears ties, but he did like the design.
On Sunday morning I snapped a picture of Pat with his dad and two out of three of his brother. His youngest brother was away on a guys weekend. They are all laughing which describes the Mangan family. Laughter is never far away from any conversation!

Dad {mentor example friend hero protector}
Pat and his dad's father's day cards were made very late this year - Saturday about 3 pm - right before we were having Pat's side of the family over for dinner. As the saying goes, better later than never. That said, I knew exactly what set I wanted to use for his dad. I love the Verve Plain Jane that I used for the background as well as the dad sentiment. The sentiment certainly does the talking on this card. My card uses the CAS(E) this Sketch and Verve Diva Dare Inspiration.
Here are a few shots of the cousin gang from Saturday night. Pat's brother Mike and family were in town for a lacrosse tournament this weekend. Just like last year we were up early on Sunday to go to Connor's games. Pat didn't get the benefit of breakfast in bed like I did for Mother's Day. The cousins had a great time playing wiffle ball and many other games together.

Happy Father's Day!
We are up and at it early this morning to go watch my nephew, Connor, play lacrosse. We're having a fabulous weekend celebrating Father's Day with our family. Normally, the boys and I would get up and make Pat breakfast, but an 8 am game means donuts! So, I'm here typing up this early and quickly. I am so blessed to be married to the most amazing husband and incredible father to our four boys.
I'm doubly blessed that I had the most loving, encouraging father. It has been eight years since my dad has been gone. I miss him dearly. It is the little things I miss. The slight squeeze of a hand. The pride he took in a job well done. Him calling me pumpkin. Dancing with him. His laughter that filled a room. His memories are always close to my heart.
Happy Father's Day!
PS These two cards are also being entered in the FUSION Challenge.

More Plaid...
Good morning...we have gorgeous weather this weekend...perfect for baseball, lacrosse games, 2 graduations parties and our family cookout tonight! But, before the day gets started I have a Father's Day card to share with you. This card will go to my father-in-law. He is simply amazing. He is a fabulous role model for us all and we love him with all our heart.
I made this a few weeks ago following the same technique I used for this card. I'll be popping this into the Fusion Card Challenge (and I'll have another one for my hubby for this same challenge!)
Hope you all have a fabulous Saturday!

For You Dad
Hello, hello! It's time to pop in and share a card for CAS-ual Fridays! I started with a one layer card for this design, but decided I wanted a bit more color on the card so I trimmed out the top layer and popped it up on a blue card base! I admit to being a bit challenged on good color combos so I used this color board from Pinterest to inspire my card.
I love the Brickworks set that I used for the sentiment on this card. It has great combinations of sentiments for this time of year (graduations and father's day!). I used up all my grad cards over the weekend getting ready for the six parties we have coming up to celebrate graduations! So...I decided to change it up and move on to the next holiday, Father's Day! The graphic portion of the card uses the amazing Zigs and Zags set...if you love chevrons this is a must have for you!

Super. Spectacular. Amazing. Happy Father's Day!
Good morning! I'm blogging live this morning as my friend Amy would say! Popping in to wish my fabulous hubby and all the other fathers a wonderful Father's Day! This card was inspired by a Colour Q Challenge several weeks ago. This is my card for Pat. I'm so thankful to have a truly amazing husband as a father to our four beautiful boys. I know we're all super spoiled to have him!
Yesterday we celebrated Father's Day with the Mangan side of the family at a local park. Our little niece, Shelby, is very into striking a pose these days. So..her old sister, Ella, and Pat's dad, PopPop, had to get into the action.
Of course, Nana and Shelby, couldn't be left out either. I love Shelby's facial expression...her eyes say it all!
PopPop organized the picnic at the same place were Ryan had a game later in the day. I have to brag on my guy. Pitched the last 5 innings of the game...13 strike outs, 1 base on balls and 2 hits. He was on fire :) ...and I'm one proud mama.
I'll be back tomorrow with tons more pictures this week from our weekend get together! Happy Father's Day!

You are the Best Dad
The color combo and the fun pattern for the current Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger definitely caught my attention. The color combo shouted masculine to me so I went ahead and inked up my new Craft's Meow sets. The retro backgrounds on the bottom will be used a lot. Super easy to line up all the patterns. Of course, as you can see from my blog header I love chocolate chip and cherry cobler, so what's not to love about this challenge line up?!

The Pre-Vacation Panic...
Before I get to my card, let's chat for a bit. I'm getting ready to go on vacation next week. One week from today I'll be heading to England for a quick one week trip with my mum to visit my 93 year old nana and my cousin, Sandie. I'm really looking forward to it, but I'm officially in panic mode. Ryan's Confirmation is on Sunday and baseball officially starts on Saturday. Of course, there is work and normal life too. Really nothing to complain about, but I'm stressing just a bit. Anyone else get into the pre-vacation panic? At the same time, I'm also thanking my lucky stars that I have a hubby who encouraged me to go with my mum to see my nana since it has been too long since I've seen here. He's so supportive. I think I should leave this card for him...even if it isn't Father's Day just yet. I played along with this card for the current ColourQ Challenge.

Dad You're REEL Great! (and my little elf...)
I think I mentioned that I did a little shopping on Black Friday. One of the items that hit my cart was the Paper Smooches My Guy stamps! Being mom to four boys...this set really was a "must have"! Or at least that is what I told myself! I had to look at this week's Tic, Tac, Toe challenge from CAS-ual Fridays a few times before deciding what combination to pick...but then decided on the kraft, polka dots and orange challenge. Hopefully when Pat is out fishing he catches more than a gold fish, but I thought this was pretty darn cute!
Now, I also want to share about my time out with Collin on Saturday. Having four boys and working full time means that one on one time with my boys doesn't happen often enough. However, this past Saturday, Collin had First Reconciliation class. When I woke him up on Saturday, he quickly asked if we could go out after church to pick out Christmas presents for his brothers. He was extremely sweet. He knew exactly what he wanted to get Jonathon and Marcel and needed a couple of suggestions for Ryan. When we were in the check out line, he realized he'd forgotten Pat. He asked, "doesn't daddy need new glasses?" Yes...he keeps "out growing" his reading glasses, but I had no idea what his prescription would be. So, he picked out a pack of gum. Then later in the day thought, "we should have bought daddy guitar strings, that would be perfect. But I'm not sure what kind he would need." So thoughtful my sweet boy as Pat would love guitar strings! Then, later in the day, "Mommy, this is my first time being an elf. It's really hard to keep a secret like elves do." When we got home, he suggested that he hide the gifts in his Toy Story suitcase. I had to go in the house on the "look out" for his brothers. A few hours later he was down in my craft room with his suitcase and wrapped up all the gifts. Back in the suitcase they went...we'll see how this little elf does keeping the secret for a few weeks!
And here he is on our day out together...when we're one on one, I'll pay for a few video games :)

Happy Father's Day Pat!
Good morning, for my My Time Made Easy post, please click here.http://themangoboysandme.blogspot.com/2011/06/my-time-made-easy-pretty-palette_19.html
I wanted to pop in to wish my wonderful husband a Happy Father's Day. I am so very blessed to have him as the father to my boys. Many week nights and weekends around this time of year, you'll see him sitting just like he is in this picture from Ryan's game yesterday. This was about mid game, Ryan had played catcher for the first three innings, was sitting out the fourth and then went in for pitcher for the fifth through seventh innings (came home with a 4-3 win too :)!). Not only is Pat a wonderful coach to his own children, there are so many boys that he has coached through the years on whom I know he has made a positive influence. He loves our boys so much, challenges them to work hard, love, have faith and be a high integrity boy/young man. I love him so much and am thrilled that we get to learn to be good parents together.
Happy Father's Day Pat!

Happy Father's Day Patrick!
Happy Father's Day to my dear, dear husband. Our boys are so very blessed to have you as their dad. It has been nine years since Pat starting staying home as a full time dad. I regularly count my blessings not only because you are my best friend, but because of what a wonderful father you are to our boys. You are a role model in so many ways: honesty, friendship, love, hardwork and lots and lots of laughter. Our boys will all grow up to be amazing men and fathers because of you.
Today, we'll head out to the cemetary after church to leave flowers on my dad's grave. Miss and love you dad, but as Ryan said so many years ago..."I'm sure grandad is relaxing in his big comfy chair in heaven." My dad always had his favorite chair were me as a little girl and my boys as babies cuddled on his lap. Thinking you often in your big comfy chair with your laughter that could fill up the room.
The card below is courtesy of Denise in my card club...love the sentiment on this card so very much! Thank you Denise for bringing this for us to make last week! Perfect!
