Wishing You a Forever Kind of Love

Don't fall over, but I'm going to have three cards to post this week!  Yes...three...I'm on a roll.  I used to post almost every day and I certainly miss creating a bit more.  This card was made Saturday morning before we headed out for a wedding in Columbus OH. The colors and feel were inspired by their wedding album.  A bit rustic, but very elegant. And the CAS(e) this Sketch was the perfect inspiration.  Love when the card you imagine in your head translates quickly to your creation!

And the wedding was a blast. We only new the groom (a prior co-worker of mine) but it was fabulous. We met a lot of the other guests and danced the night away.  Love attending weddings where you can see how much the bride and groom are loved and supported.

Happy 25th to Us!

Happy Saturday my friends.  Life has been busy with vacations, wedding anniversaries, a new job and getting ready for back to school next week. The three younger boys go back to school on Tuesday and Ryan heads back to OU on Friday. Hard to believe we're saying goodbye to another summary already, but before we do...I wanted to pop in and share a card for our 25th wedding anniversary.  I am so very blessed to share life with my best friend.  I love this man with my whole heart and am so thankful we get to share the good, the bad and all the everyday moments together.  This is the card I gave him...love this Verve sentiment!

Here are a few pictures from last weekend...Pat's parents were nice enough to take us out to dinner at the restaurant where we had our rehearsal dinner.

And here's pictures from our big day 25 years ago!  I still love my wedding dress and the man next to me! :)

Okay...off I go...we're off to Columbus for a wedding of a co-worker. I love celebrating new beginnings!

Happily Ever After..

I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!  We had an incredible time in Pennsylvania visiting Pat's side of the family and celebrating his cousin Ryan's ordination as a deacon. This time next year he will be ordained as a priest. The mass was absolutely beautiful and it is amazing to watch Ryan's faith continue to go. He certainly is a gift to those he will serve.

We got back midday on Sunday so yesterday was a very laid back day. The kids are thrilled that we have a pool in our neighborhood and the added bonus is that it is only two doors down from our house.  I was down there with them for a bit and then came back to sneak in some crafty time. Over at Muse, we're celebrating Ardyth's 50th...and she is 50 and fabulous for sure!  So the challenge is to case one of her cards. This was oh so easy to do as I absolutely love her style. I'm regularly pinning her cards so I decided to create one of her cards she made last week. I loved her card! This card is going into the mail to my brother and his fiancee! They just got engaged on Friday so lots of celebrating to do around here!  Ardyth - you are a dear and I hope that your family spoiled you rotten. I'm so thankful for our friendship!  xx

Curtain Call: Wishing You

Pat has two cousins getting married this summer:  one in August and one on Labor Day weekend. Unfortunately, we are only going to be able to make one of them...but I was in need of cards for them both.  And...the Curtain Call:  Unicorn challenge was the perfect challenge to play along.  I loved the boarded background and used that inspiration to score the white background panel. At first, I planned on making a baby card, but quickly switched to the wedding card and picked up the pinks and oranges.  I love this gorgeous heart and fabulous sentiments from Verve.

Celebrate

Okay...this picture was hard to snap, but the photo quality is good enough.  It's so hard to have metallics display well.  This Saturday, we're going to a wedding for my long time neighbor who is getting married. We've raised our families together and have so many wonderful memories.   Sadly, she lost her first husband to cancer several years ago, but thankfully has found love again. I'm so happy for her and Tim and we're all looking forward to celebrating with them this weekend.

Happily Ever After...

Happy Tuesday my friends. Popping in quickly this morning before I head out the door for work.  Sharing a card for no particular challenge, but for a very very happy occasion. A happy 10th anniversary to my amazing cousin, Sandie and her dear husband, Callum. This card was sent several weeks ago (but yes late!) to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary.  Sandie's favorite color is purple so I had to nod to her favorite color and her CAS loving style. This card was sent with tons of love and wishes for many, many anniversaries to come!

Happily Ever After

Hi there, popping in with a wedding card to share using Frantic Stampers goodies!  White on white is an elegant combination when making a wedding card.  Love how rich, yet clean a design looks when there is white on white. So, to start off this wedding card, I used the Lattice Flower Square Panel on a square card base.  I wanted to make the card extra feminine so I die cut the Princess Die Cut two times. The first time I cut it in a soft pink. The second time it was die cut using a soft polka dot vellum. The two layers were glued together to finish off the dress form.  The final touch was a happily ever after sentiment. A perfect card to have on hand for a wedding or wedding shower.

It's time for another challenge over at Time Out.  Our challenge is to be  Inspired by Words:  Happy is the bride that the sun shines on.  This challenge is perfect timing for me as I have a wedding to attend next weekend!  The colors of the wedding are teal and navy.  My card added gold and put in black instead of navy, but I think it is close enough!

For the Happy Couple

Happy Friday my friends!  I'm really looking forward to the three day weekend. We have a few graduation parties to go to on Sunday and am I throwing a wedding shower tomorrow afternoon. So, I was very lucky to have already had this card made and it fit perfectly with the challenge over at CASology. The wedding colors are teal and navy...ignore that my stamping could be significantly straighter! I should have used my Misti.

I thought I'd share this note Collin left for his third grade teacher yesterday.  Absolutely melted my heart.  He is finishing up 5th grade but man oh man did his third grade teacher rank on his all time favorite list.  She now teaches sixth grade so we are hoping he gets her again next year. This note sums Collin up...multiple pens...looks like there is dirt or something all over the page...he loves writing in cursive but added an extra ma to his name.  Don't worry he knows how to spell it. He melts my heart.  And I love how he signed as her favorite student. She got a big kick out of it and sent it to me.

PaperSmooches Sparks: Mr & Mrs

Welcome back to another PaperSmooches Sparks challenge. This week we have an Anything Goes challenge for you.  The fabulous Aimes of Crafting Confessions will be getting married in a week; in honor of her upcoming wedding, I thought I'd make her and her fabulous fiance a card to celebrate their special day.  I used stamps from the We Connect set and an ampersand from the  Ampersands 2 Dies.  Of course, I had to use gray as Aimes will soon be Mrs. Gray.  I'll be sending this across the pond to Aimes with wishes of many happy years ahead.

Please be sure to stop by the other design team members blogs to check out their fabulous creations.

And of course, we'd love to see you play along. You'll have until Saturday at 11:59 PST to join along.   Hop on over to the PaperSmooches Sparks blog to play along with us!

For the Happy Couple

A couple of weeks ago I mentioned we went to Pat's cousin's wedding.  I realized when we got there that I didn't bring a gift or a card!  Woops! So...I'm finally getting that taken are of this week.  I pulled out my Reverse Confetti stamps and dies and got to wok on creating the card.  Love the sketch inspiration from CAS(E) this Sketch this week.

Paper Smooches Sparks: Anything Goes

Hello there and welcome to this week's PaperSmooches Sparks challenge.  I love when it is everything goes week at PaperSmooches.  My card below was given to Pat's cousin and his new bride last week. We were lucky enough to attend their wedding in Robobeth Beach, Delaware. A fabulous beach town.  Pat and I both went there as little kids. The weather was gorgeous for their special day.

I recently ordered some new PS goodies and this card features them. The Duo Die #1We Connect and Flirty Frames were all used on this card.  The colors for the card were based on their wedding invitation.  I should have taken pictures of the decorations as they had star fish in the coral and blue (not turquoise, but a name is escaping me!) above.  Here's a few pictures from JT and Kelsey's special day.  Weddings in our family are always a great time and this was no exception!

Time to exchange the rings! Kelsey was stunning.

Sweet little Dashiell...this is Pat's cousins little one.  He stole our hearts!  So handsome...

Please be sure to stop by the other design team members blogs to check out their fabulous creations.

And of course, we'd love to see you play along. You'll have until Saturday at 11:59 PST to join along. Hop on over to the PaperSmooches Sparks blog to play along with us!

Happily Ever After

Happy New Year my friends!  Since we spent our new year's celebrating a wedding, I thought it would be fun to make another wedding card.  The color inspiration from the Just Us Girls photo below was what inspired the card. I stamped the patterned image on vellum and then embossed it with gold embossing powder.  I added the sentiment and heart to the black strip.  It is a bit messy since I had used my PTI linen impression plate before stamping the sentiment.  Woops!  I'm happy with the end result.

I hope that the new year gets off to a great start for each of you and that your year is filled with a lot of love and blessings.

Love...

Happy Friday friends!  I snuck in a bit of crafting time on Christmas day. The boys were all busy playing with their new toys (electronic drums and guitars were playing along with an XBox game). I crafted for a bit while Pat took a quick nap.  On New Year's Eve, we're going to a wedding and I wanted to make a card for the newlyweds. I love this Verve set and thought it was perfect for a wedding sentiment.  I think ringing in the new year is a great way to celebrate New Year's. What about you?  Any fun new year's plans?  We're normally home relaxing...

Mr. & Mrs.

Hello there.  Today's blog entry:  create a card using lots of patterned paper (Simple Stories Vintage Bliss).  I had fun creating this CAS card for a co-worker who got engaged last week.  Always happy to see someone fall in love and decide to get married!  Kept it simple and added Hero Arts sentiment for the couple to be.

Congratulations!

One of my co-workers is getting married in a few weeks.  I loved making this card for her.  It came together really quickly.  The panel pieces (with the exception of the ribbon) are from her actual invitation.  The font on the invitation is also eggplant.  I love when cards come together easily!  We'll be celebrating with her on Monday by throwing her an impromptu wedding shower!

I based the card on the current RetroSketch!

And here's my update on running this week. This week qualifies as a long week for a variety of reasons, but I stuck with my commitment of running.  Here's the recap

Sunday:  2.32 miles 12.02 min/mile
Monday 2.31 miles 11.27 min/mile
Tuesday 2.32 miles 10.25 min/mile
Thursday 2.31 miles 10.07 min/mile

I'm using the Map My Run app on my phone to track my mileage...have to say it is a great motivator.  Except Sunday I ran in the early evening after work/baseball.  I have been tired due to several long work days, but I certainly feel a ton better when I exercise.  I'm give another update next Friday!

Happy Friday my friends!

Wedding Day

For my CAS-ual Fridays post, please click here.

I didn't think I was going to play along with this month's PaperTrey Ink Blog Hop, but inspiration struck last night!  I was struggling to think about coloring in a background stamp or doing lots of paper piecing, but at the last minute decided to play along and create background paper by stamping in white and heat embossing.  So...A double entry, one for the Moxie Fab Create Your Own Background and one for the PTI blog hop.  I also added in a little jingle bell to represent a wedding bell!  Happy Friday friends!

CAS-ual Fridays: Put a Bling On It

Happy Friday!  Hope that you had a short work week and that it was an easy one for you. I have to say I love this time of year and coming home when it is still light for several hours after dinner. The boys love, love, love to be outside and are happy that today is the last day of school!  Ryan, my mom and I are heading out tonight to see Wicked.  Ryan requested that as his birthday present from my mom. I'm looking forward to it too!

Since's it's Friday, it is time for another CAS-ual Fridays Challenge. This week our sponsor is the fabulous Simon Says Stamps!  An awesome place for all things crafty.
We all know bling is a girl's best friend!  Well maybe not, but it certainly doesn't hurt to have some nice bling :)!  This week our challenge at CAS-ual Fridays is all about bling!  Create a clean and simple card with some bling.   My wedding card supply was non-existent so I decided to make up a sweet little wedding card.  I paper pieced the cake using several Lily Bee Design papers and then added several red gems to finish off the sweet little wedding cake.
Come play along with us!  And you can win a guest designer spot for next month!  We'd love for you to join us.

Happily Ever After...

**Card Removed for Publication**

Happy Wednesday!  The work week is almost half over and I'll be heading home from my work trip at the end of the day.  Here's hoping for no delays on my way home!

I''m popping in to share a card for the current challenge over at Jay Gee's Nook. Looking at this card, I really wish that I had used zig zag instead of straight stitching, but we have to remember to share the cards we like but may not love. This falls into that category.   I think the inspiration photo below has so many glorious ideas!  I went with the photo in bottom middle row as my primary inspiration, but there are truly a ton of jumping off points for this card!
Hope you get a chance to give it a try and that your week is going well!

Celebrate {in damask style}

This past weekend we went to a wedding of a long time friend's daughter.  I worked with the father of the bride for many, many years and now I work with his daughter, the bride!  So, my brothers and sister-in-laws attended too.  Pat was camping with Collin and Marcel so he couldn't make it.  We had a really nice time catching up with friends and dancing the night away.  Kelly's wedding card is above and coordinate with her invitations and wedding colors:  black damask with a touch of red.  She had the best high heeled red sparkly sandles on.  I wish I had taken a picture of her feet! :)

Here's a few pictures from the wedding (I apologize for the blurriness...I took them with my phone!)  Me with my two older brothers:  Mark & Neal.
A group of my old co-workers from my previous job.
Jeff and Kelly with their father/daughter dance.  We were all a bit teary!
And they had a photo booth...which of course, we went in three times in a row since there wasn't a line at the start of the reception.  In the first row...you can tell we had no idea what we were doing.  The first picture we weren't even in the booth.  Then in the second row...we were pushing Laura out the back of the booth...so she maybe protested just a bit.  And then...on the third try (yes...the third tries the charm with our family...) we got our act together!
