Back to Class

Hi there, I'm happy to report I made it home from my trip without any trouble.  On the way there, my seat on the plane was in the very back next to the toilet. Not so pleasant! Thankfully on the way home I was in the middle of the plane.

I had a few minutes last night so I wanted to try to catch up from Monday and Tuesday's classes. Monday's class was on simple embellishments and Tuesday's was on using plain white cards.  I think these cards qualify for both days.  The first one below I'm also going to enter in the Moxie Fab Embossing/Debossing Challenge and the Passion for PaperTrey Valentine Challenge.  I tried to create the visual of someone etching "love you" into a tree.  The inspiration for the gem on the little clothespin comes from Karen.  She's done this on cards in the past and I love the extra touch.

The little heart on the first one and the snowflakes below are from Els.  I'm loving the goodies you sent me Els!  I misted a bit on the background and added just a touch of patterned paper before stamping the sentiment and adding the embellishments.
I hope you like them both!  I'm hoping to catch up on Wednesday and Thursday's classes tonight.

An Irish Blessing

Good morning...popping in to share a fun St. Patrick's Day card with you inspired by this week's CPS sketch layout.  Nothing like a great sketch to quickly inspire you!  This card will be going in the mail to my college roommate, Colleen, who never misses a St. Patrick's Day celebration!

Creative Therapy

Last night was our monthly card club.   Oh, how I love these ladies.  It's always good to decompress for a couple hours...

We all have such different styles which makes the night even more fun.

I used the Sweet Sunday Sketch as an inpsiration for my card.

Chrissy's Card...isn't the flower just stunning?  This idea is from Dawn's video on her blog.  I love the brad in the middle...stunning!  I think this card will probably go to my nana for her birthday in early February.

Denise's card.  She has an amazing eye for color.  The Basic Grey chip board is beautiful surrounded by the blues and deep purple.

Katie's card.  I love the scalloped edges, the sentiment and colors. Beautiful and perfect!

Karen's fun ribbon card. We were all oohing and aahing about how many different styles we could make of this using our ribbon stash!  This will be going to my niece who is all girl!

Ingredients (for my card!):  SU Real Rust, Close To Cocoa, Very Vanilla Paper, My Mind's Eye DSP; PaperTrey Ink Stamps, SU Dusty Ribbon

Card Club Creations

Last week was card club. Always one of my favorite nights of the month!  I thought I would share the gorgeous creations from this month! Have to tease my friends telling them they've officially been published...on my blog!  Quite the honor :)!

First up is Denise's Thanksgiving card.  Isn't this turkey beautiful?  It was made from a Cricut cartridge.

Next is Karen's idea.  Inside this adorable package is a Kit Kat.  The ends are krimped shut.  We all thought this was perfect for a little teacher gift or to put a gift card inside.  Lots of uses!

Cheers to You from Katie! So many fun uses of this stamp sets...we all had plenty of people to give this fun card!

Chrissy's card was unbelievable.  So many awesome details....various scallop punches for the top border, adorable jingle bells...I'm in love with this card.   Mine will go to my grandmother in England!

Last but not least is my card...I created something very similar in an earlier post.

Hope you've enjoyed.  I'm off this weekend for a scrapbooking weekend with the girls and to celebrate my birthday tomorrow!  Lots of crafting and good friends so it makes for a happy weekend for me!

Card Club Creations

A little over four years ago I joined a "card club". Card club might sound like "euchre" but it is card club with my crafty friends. We meet about once a month give or take a few weeks here or there. Each of us has our own style and we are always trying new things. Takes me out of my box and helps me try new things too. The best part is sharing a few hours with friends and of course, filling up our card stash too! Below is my creation for this month...looking forward to getting together with the ladies next week!

Ingredients: Paper: K& Co. Citronella Pinwheels; Citronella Roundos; SU Stamps: Short & Sweet; Tart & Tangy; Inks: Kaleidscope; Gable Green & Summer Sun
