Lynn is so very happy...with appreciation!
This was my Facebook status earlier this week…I don’t speak in the third person, I think that’s obnoxious! But…I did want to write about why that was my status. My running friend, Katie, commented on my status, “Care to share…could use some happy mojo rub off on me!” My response, “Just thinking when I put it all together …family, friends, work…life is very good…lot to be thankful for so feeling very happy!”
I posted my status as I was sitting in traffic (no the car wasn’t moving as I was looking at my cell phone). My thoughts were along these lines:
I started by thinking about a conversation I had with Jonathon. He asked me, “Mommy, who is your best friend?” “Your daddy.” “No mommy, you’re married to him…besides daddy, who is your best friend?” I certainly am very blessed to have wonderful friends and family and would count many of my family members including my husband and mom as my best friends. How lucky am I? I explained to Jonathon about how very lucky I feel to be best friends with his dad and have several other friends I would consider "my best."
I then moved on to why I was happy. My beloved dad passed away almost five years ago and our dear, dear neighbor Bill passed away just over a year ago. We miss both of them terribly. Why am I still feeling so happy? I’m happy because I have no doubt in my mind that my dad and Bill knew how much they were loved. I think those close to me know how much I love and care about them. I try to be honest with others even during tough times and to let them know how much I love and appreciate them. Even though there will be tough times and I will lose those I care about, they know how I feel about them and I think I know how they feel about me! Ryan said to me a couple of months ago, “Mom, you tell me you love me like 24/7.” Biggest compliment I could ever have received from him… I’ll keep telling him “24/7” how much I love him.
This doesn’t mean that life is perfect…or that I don’t have fears in the pit of my stomach about losing others in my life…or having some type of challenge put in front of me, but life is so very good and I’m so very happy!
So onto my card...With Appreciation! I thought this would be perfect to send to one of my wonderful friends! Thanks to Mercy for the sketch inspiration!
