Just because.

Hi there...I'm back again to show two more cards from the class.  The one below is from day 3 and it ranks as my favorite of the four I've made for class so far.  Jennifer McGuire showed us a technique to use our dies to create tone on tone dimension on a card.  She used very intricate dies, but this butterfly is the most intricate die I have with the exception of a snowflake!  I normally stay away from the really detailed dies because I'm not patient enough to pick out all the little pieces!  If you look closely you'll see the dimension and that the butterfly layers are white underneath.  To add a bit more texture to the card I embossed the top panel with the PTI Linen Impression Plate.  I think stamped a Verve sentiment.  I could see making a card set with this layout.
And my second card is for Day 2.  Making a one layer card.  This also could easily be a card set and is very similar to what I made for teacher gifts!
Hope you like them both!

I appreciate you sharing what you're learning. I would have never thought to do a tone on tone card...this inspires me. I like the yellow you chose and how you used the linen impression plate to create a little more interest.
I also like your one layer card. I adore that PTI set!

Love that butterfly card, so perfect in yellow. I've never thought of using tone on tone die-cuts. All these posts about that class make me wish I would've taken it.

Lynn, these are both fantastic. I love the tone-on-tone embossing.. really a great effect. Your second card is simple and just stunning. I have this yet and it has yet seen ink - but after seeing this, I need to make a point to use it. Thank you for the push!

I really like both cards but the first is my favorite. I love that PTI linen effect. I saw it on a card by Aimes the other day and thought then how gorgeous it looks and naturally you have used it so well and also the colour of the paper is so elegant

These are just beautiful, Lynn! I bought that butterfly last month, but it's still setting in my drawer. You've inspired me to dig it out and create! LOVE that soft yellow!

Hi Lyn,
I'm enjoying this course too and love both your cards, but your butterfly card shows that you have really nailed the CAS card technique. It's truly awesome!

I couldn't possibly pick a favorite between these two! I love the monochromatic look and simple sentiment on the butterfly card, but the versatility of your second design is fabulous, too. Just pinned it so I can remember it when making card sets!
