Festive Friday: Joy

Hello there and happy Black Friday.  Are you doing any shopping today?  We'll be spending the day with family but I will likely try to hit some on-line shopping sales. We're back with the final reminder for our last Festive Friday challenge of the year.  I was inspired with the curves in the mantel and all the fabulous pink.  A nice one layer card for mailing!

Festive Friday: Christmas Greetings

Hello there!  We're back with our last Festive Friday challenge of the year.  The year has flown by and I hope that this challenge has helped you jump start your Christmas cards. I have loved seeing all your gorgeous cards throughout the year.  My card picks up the beautiful ribbon and colors.  Love how the pink pops against the kraft and white.

Festive Friday: Peace Love Joy

Man...this year has flown by!  We're down to our second to last challenge at Festive Friday!  How are your holiday preparations going?  I'd like to be done with Christmas shopping by the end of November but I haven't really started much shopping. I'll need to hit the on-line shops hard to make that happen.

I started out making a card with a wreath for today's inspiration, but I didn't like it at all and it ended up in in the garbage.  I ended up with a very, very CAS card inspired by the wreath leaves and the bow.

Festive Friday Reminder: Merry Christmas

Last week I for Festive Friday I picked up on the kraft with the red/white. For my reminder card this week, I picked up the black towards the back of the picture. I'm not sure I even saw that the first time around!  I layered two die cuts on top of each other and added a few sequins. I rarely use sequins so you'll have to give me your opinion as to whether or not they are in the right spot!  A touch of ribbon and we were finished up.

I adore red on kraft and white, so this week's Festive Friday inspiration was right up my ally! I cut up the sentiment just a bit (Maile Belle's inspired), added a tag, ribbon and a touch of enamel elements to finish off the card.  I love how breaking up the sentiment adds just a touch of visual interest to the card.  I hope you are inspired to come play along with us at Festive Friday!

Festive Friday: Merry Christmas

Happy Friday my friends.  Pat and I are in Washington DC this weekend to celebrate his cousin Amy's wedding. We're so happy for her and absolutely love catching up with his whole family. We are so blessed too that my mum is staying with the boys.

I loved the crisp red/white lines and you can see how I was inspired.

Happy Friday!  I'm popping in with my inspiration card for Festive Friday. I love the crisp red ribbon against the white chair covers.  Beautiful inspiration.  My card was inspired by my "need" to use my new Simon Says die. (Ignore my smudgy fingers on the die...I should have redone it but was in a bit of a hurry). I finished it off with the pine cone die and a touch of shimmer.

Popping in with a reminder for Festive Friday.  I love pink for a Christmas color and used this as my base for my card, but decided to add a touch of color to my design. A simple scene with a few Christmas trees.  I love the PaperSmooches dies that create the soft snowy looking hill for the trees.

Festive Friday: Merry Christmas

How about all the pink, silver and pearls in the inspiration photo above.  There are about 100 things that could inspire you for our challenge at Festive Friday.  I was inspired by the colors as well as the detailed patterns on many of the ornaments.  The poinsettia leaves are heat embossed on vellum. They are Verve and the detail is truly fabulous. A few more embellishments were added to finish off the design.

Festive Friday Reminder: Merry Christmas

Happy Friday...I'm back with a reminder today to play along with us over at Festive Friday.   I was inspired to play along with the chalkboard inspiration from the photo.  I've been missing using my cherry cobbler ribbon so I finished the card off with a bow and a touch of holly from the PaperSmooches dies.

Festive Friday: Merry Christmas

Christmas is fast approaching.  Hard to believe another school year is starting and in a little under four months another Christmas will be here.  Kind of feels like madness how fast time seems to fly as we get older.  I have another CAS card for this week's Festive Friday card.  Pam Allen is guest designing with us.  Please stop by her Flickr account to check out her gorgeous cards.  I first thought chalkboard, but didn't have thicker fonts with Christmas sentiments that I wanted to use for a chalkboard technique.  I ended up combining a Verve sentiment with WPlus9 stamps.  

I made two versions of the same card...just slightly different.  Have a favorite?!  Not sure which one I prefer.  Think I might like it in the bottom right hand corner with the leaves on the top and bottom opposite corners of the sentiment...but decided to let it go...

Festive Friday Reminder: Peace on Earth

Happy Friday. This card may look very similar to my card from last week, but it has a slightly different twist. Today's card was made with a new Memory Box tree die that I have. I used the same patterned paper from last week. I love that my Christmas cards are starting to get done...still lots to do, but clean, one layer cards are my favorite for easy mailing!

Tonight we'll be having Collin's birthday party with a few of his friends at David Buster's.  He can't wait!  He turns the big 11 tomorrow!  Have any fun plans on your calendar for the weekend?

For my card, I decided to add a touch of color to the neutral color palette. I love these sweet trees from PaperSmooches. It was very easy to paper piece this card.  As you know, I always love a one layer card!

How sweet is this antique car?  Wish I had a stamp for this that I could paper piece.  So plan B, I went with the fabulous wreath on the front.  I used my Avery Elle stamps to make the wreath.  Oh how I love stamping.  This was a quick, easy card to make with stamping and a touch of embossing.

Festive Friday Reminder: Holiday Cheer

I'm starting to crank up the creation of Christmas cards.  This fall is going to be very busy for me with more work travel than normal so I'm trying to plan ahead (we'll see how I really do :)).  I love our inspiration photo as always at Festive Friday. I embossed on vellum and fussy cut before adhering to my card base.  At first I put the silver directly on white but felt I needed a bit of color so patterned paper was added to the base of the card.

Festive Friday: Merry & Bright

Hello there friends. Isn't this Festive Friday inspiration photo stunning.  I love all the white with the pops of silver and the pinecones.  There are wreaths, words, snowflakes. All kinds of gorgeous inspiration.  I choose to be inspired by the snowflake cookies at the front of the table. My Lil Inker snowflakes were perfect. I'm looking forward to playing along again next week with more inspiration.

It's time for the weekend and a reminder to come play with us at Festive Friday.  When I was looking through the cards submitted already, I came across this card from Anya.  I loved the big bow on her card the presents she made. I pulled out some of my gorgeous May Arts ribbon to make this card with some Authentique patterned paper. Happy 4th of July my friends!  I hope you have lots of fun activities planned for this weekend!

Look at all those gorgeous presents for this week's Festive Friday challenge inspiration.  I liked the bold tartan but decided to go for a bit more muted look by putting vellum over some chevron patterned paper. I added a bit more texture pattern by embellishing the bow with some holly leaves and gems.

Festive Friday: Christmas Blessings

It's Friday...and I have a half day off to go take care of a variety of appointments (dentist, oil change, etc).  I'm looking forward to the weekend starting a bit early.  I couldn't resist playing along with our current inspiration photo at Festive Friday.  I loved the pinks and blues and used them as my inspiration to create a sweet little present.

Festive Friday: Merry Christmas

Oh yes.  I am in love with the color palette for this week's Festive Friday challenge.  My patterned paper drawer was overflowing so it was the perfect opportunity to pull out the colors from the inspiration.  My sewing machine is pretty neglected too...so I took the opportunity to stitch on the patterned paper layer.  My card was inspired by this tag by the oh so talented Cristina.  I love her style.  If you look closely you can see that I embossed snowflakes on the top of the card.  Added some ribbon as well as my ribbon hasn't been getting a lot of love lately!
