Happy Sunday my friends. I'm sitting here pretty tired after two days of show choir competitions, but honestly I wouldn't trade it for the world. Both Collin and Ryan's groups did really well - both coming in second place. It is so fun to watch Ryan as a senior with five years in the group and to see the smiles on Collin's face as he competes for the first time. I asked Collin what the best part was...and he said, "I don't know...all of it. It's just so much fun." He's so adorable up there and is very proud that he's a good dancer. My favorite part with Ryan is the early morning and late night talks we have when he is getting ready to leave or when he gets home. The day started with a quick breakfast talk at 6 am and ended with a long conversation when he got home at 2:15 am. The friendships they make through this group, the life long skills they learn of being part of a team and working hard will forever serve them well. We are very blessed to have wonderful directors that set fantastic examples for our children. My heart is full every time I watch them perform.
Getting a start on Christmas cards for next year...when I saw the challenge for the Merry Monday challenge, I knew I had a few tiny scraps of this plaid paper left so I quickly put it to use with this very CAS card. Always nice to get a jump start on my Christmas cards!
And now...I'm off to go pick up Jonathon from his youth group retreat! After which I'll promptly be sitting on the couch!

Those special talks are the best part of being a mom and get tucked away in your heart :) Great to hear they both did well.
I love your card! Very CAS and perfect!
Lovely CAS card, Lynn! Sounds like you have been busy. Congrats to your boys!
Always a joy to watch extensions of ourselves...I feel the same way. Beautiful and warm card.
Just the right touch to finish off your card. A small sliver of plaid! Thanks for playing Merry Monday this week!
Busy busy lady! Glad the boys are enjoying show choir so much. Do you think it's something Ryan will keep up with in college?
I love that pretty and bright plaid - perfect for the sentiment and so much better than the usual lumberjack plaid! :D
That little scrap of plaid is perfect the way you've used it on this card, Lynn! Such a very good idea! :)
Every time I see you use this stamp I think "gosh I wish I owned that" lol (maybe I need to just give in and buy it!) Love the plaid strip and I love this card!!!
It's such a joy when we can watch our kids thrive in doing something they love, isn't it?! I hope you had a good, long sit on that couch, Lynn. Lol! Your card is warm and cozy and I love how you only added a bit of plaid! ♥
Such a lovely card, Lynn! Its got a warm and calming feel.
So happy to hear that both Ryan and Collin had good weekends and that Mom is pooped. It is such a thrill to be able to watch our children do the things that they love. Your Christmas card is so pretty I love the colours that you used! I am going to take your advice and get going on mine early too!
You must be so proud of your boys! Wow what precious memories you are creating for them! Love your sweet card! You are way ahead of the game!
Loving that plaid number, Lynn ... I know you'll cherish those memories with your boys forever - yes, they last that long!

Love your fun card...so awesome to read about the boys!
oh, it warms my heart when you talk about your boys :) So cool that they were all inspired by their big brother. Special times indeed! What? A new Christmas card challenge? I may need to check it out and get a start! LOVE that fabulous font :) ox
I love watching my kids perform, too, Lynn! Right now, I'm trying to convince my 2nd son to audition for the school musical -- I just know he'd be terrific...
I love your card and how you added the plaid!
I remember wonderful high school chats like that with our son Joe. Wouldn't trade them for anything in the world. Drink in every minute of it, they grow up way too fast!! Cute card today, love the little strip of plaid. Enjoy the couch today ;)
I can just see their smiling faces up there on stage, Lynn. Love your card with its little plaid strip.
Yummy creation!! Love the pop of green in this. And yes, watching the children perform is one of the best things in life. I sure miss those days....enjoy! :) Congrats on the show choir success!
Of course I love this and I was so tired last night my eyeballs hurt.
