Merry and Bright {and printer questions}

After making my card yesterday for the PTI Blog Hop, I was in the Christmas mood and made three more Christmas cards. They all look kind of similar, but I'll still share them one by one over the next few days!  I hope you like them!

Can you see how I was inspired by the layout of Anita's gorgeous MUSE card below?

Also, we are in the market for a new printer.  Ours is many, many years old and is saying it has a printer jam, requesting new ink when new ink cartridges have just been installed, etc. Think it's time for a new one!?  We use for printing the occasional picture and primarily for school papers. Any suggestions on reliable color printers?

Love how you've made the Muse Christmassy. We have a big HP laser printer. It's expensive and so are the toner cartridges but apparently it's cheaper on a per-page basis. My hubby did that research years ago. It's still working fine. We replace the cartridges maybe once every year and a half. Also for school work and occasional photos. Will not print on cardstock because it does not have a straight feed (I have a separate inkjet just for those times that I need to do that).

Another Xmas beauty. You are making good use of the DSP. I am not doing so well with the Xmas cards but may try to get some done for DT stuff this week x

Darling card and a fun design. Can't go wrong with an HP printer but those darn cartridges can add up quickly! However, there are many on line stores that deliver and are cheaper than other main stream sources. We have a Cartridge World near us where we get all our printer refills as they are about 50% cheaper than Staples or Office Depot. They refill them for you and you don't always get name brand HP refill cartridges, but the knock offs work perfectly fine.

I love your Christmas interpretation of my card Lynn. Love your choice of papers and the font of the sentiment is gorgeous, love that!
Thanks so much for playing along at Muse, Anita x

Crisp and fun and festive, Lynn ... the bold sentiment is fabulous! A printer ... would recommend the Canon MG7550 ... it's fantastic ... great photo's and crisp printing ... and takes double sized generic ink cartridges that can be had from various online stores (making it a reasonable per page print cost). The MG5550 is another great one! Hugs, Anita :)

Love the layers and striped paper with those holly leaves, Lynn. I loved my old printer (HP Photosmart) and asked for store help when I got my new one. Don't like it as well. You have to research to make sure it will do what you need.

what a beautiful font! Love the softness of this...have I called my Christmas card yet?! I use an HP colour/wireless printer I got at Costco. I'm not printing a ton of things off on it, but some photos, coloured pictures for work, etc. I do love that it will take PTI cardstock if I need to print something out. Ink can be expensive, depending on how much I print, but it's not too bad.

Absolutely so beautiful and so you Lynn, I love that script and the papers are so pretty. Fabulous card can't wait to see the others. As for printers I have an Epson which is a great printer but I cannot feed thick cardstock through it because it is a top feed. II don't print alot either but would be lost without it. Thank you so much for sharing with us at Muse this week!

This is SO pretty, the cut out semi circle adds delightful interest to this card, pinned it for future inspiration :)

Love how you've soften the bold, graphic design with that flowing sentiment and the soft leaves! So pretty! Let us know when you find the perfect printer. We've got a wireless Canon, and it's the best one we've found yet; but it sometimes has a mind of its own. Just this week, it started printing papers like crazy. I looked up at BJ and said, "What are you printing?" He said, "That's not me. I thought you were printing." LOL! Turns out, it was printing, from my laptop, a couple pages that I'd printed the day before... over and over and over again. Who knows?! It's haunted ;).
