Memories Bring Comfort

I simply can't see to keep sympathy or thinking of you cards in my stash these days.  So, when I saw the current Virginia's View challenge I had an idea.  I only have a couple of stencils so I pulled out my PTI cover plate.  I always think trees are pretty for sympathy cards as they represent life to me versus a bouqet of flowers that will eventually die.  I used the die to ink up the tree with a few different distress inks. The colors are a bit softer in real life but I'm pleased with the end result.  How about you?  Do you own a lot of stencils?  What types of patterns are your favorite?

Perfect sympathy card, Lynn! I love this tree. :-) I own zero stencils. When I need to stencil, I use my dies or punches to make a stencil.

Oops, I own about 300 stencils... But that is just because I started stamping and stencelling at the same time and never stopped to combine them...
This treestencil is a beautiful one, aswell as your coulors/card! Hugs, Gerrina

I love the tree image for sympathy cards too :) What a soft look you've created :) I only own one of the new stencils...polka dots. I just don't like to take the time to play around with techniques! LOL I think using the coverplates is a great option! ox

Seriously love this card! I do not own a stencil and never thought to use my dies to make one. This is one of my favorite dies... Going to have to give it a try :)

Great point about featuring a tree instead of flowers. I've never really thought about that, but yes, you're right. A tree is much more optimistic. Awesome inking with your stencil!
