Cherish It.

It's Tuesday night as I type this post and I have about 10 minutes before I need to run out to pick up Jonathon.  He's trying out for the middle school play...I'll keep you posted on how he does. I'm simply proud that he has the confidence to want to do it!

But...that's not the point of my post.  I've been running around a lot lately, work, kids, work, kids, and oh yeah...me and Pat too.  Through it all, I've been trying to remind myself to cherish "it".  Each day that "it" may be something different.  A kiss on Marcel and Collin's cheeks when they are still sleeping in the morning and I'm heading out to work. A quick cuddle on the couch with Pat.  A walk with a dear friend.  Running late for a carpool.  A text from Ryan.  Time watching my kids in a school concert or perform for show choir. Eye contact and a sweet smile from Jonathon.  Solving a problem at work.  A good laugh with my mum.  No matter what "it" is I'm trying to cherish "it". A lot of the rushing isn't going away. Life with four boys, a fabulous hubby and work will likely always be a rush, but I'm trying to listen to that voice in my head that says, "cherish it".  I know soon I'm going to blink and Ryan will be in college and before I know it...all of them will be out of the house.  And I have hopes for their future that they are blessed enough to be as happy as my parents were and as happy as we are.  So...I'm trying not to rush...trying to cherish it and be oh so thankful that I have a lot of "it" to cherish.  This is my gentle reminder to you, my blogging friends, whatever in your life is causing you to rush.  Make sure you stop, cherish it, and don't forget the I love yous and thank yous for those in your life that your cherish.

And...I'm sharing a card made last night for the current Clean & Simple class.  Love how Julie Ebersole taught us to emboss the outside and have a label on the inside.  I had fun creating a little scene with Verve stamps.
PS Our first Time Out Challenge has several days left to play!  Be sure to pop on over!

I should never read your posts right before I head out the door for work...red eyes from tearing up is not a good look for me! Beautiful card, but the post was even better...I will try to "cherish" some moments today as I rush around too.

you've got me teary eyed again this morning. What wise words. I was once told to l "love it all." All the hurt, pain, sorrow, happiness, wrongdoing...all of it because it's life. You never realize how fast things go until it's done. The biggest thing is that you recognize it in the middle of the busy-ness. How blessed is your family to have such a strong and healthy mum :) Darling card today...I think I'm regretting not taking that class but happy as well as no homework would have been done! ox

Gorgeous job on the technique Lynn, beautiful card and beautiful post. I am so familiar with all of the running around, trying to be on time, not miss a things and often arriving a bit late. Yes cherish every moment no matter what it does go so fast. Now I am realizing full on how fast as my son now a man, has grown up and is basically living his own life. {insert a tear} Enjoy my friend!

A beautiful card and a beautifully written and heartfelt post, Lynn! It's another reminder that LITS, life is too short, as I'm always saying. You are so right about blinking and the kids will be grown and on their own. I sit here midway through my sixth decade and feel positively dizzy at how quickly I got here!! I'm so happy for you with your blessed life! Your sincere gratitude is so inspiring for everyone!! You ROCK! Hugs, Darnell

Such an adorable card. Love those flowers and little scene you created in the negative frame.

Wise words indeed. I often cherish things in my mommy heart and drink deep of times I have with my kids and as a family. After all, that is the most important part of life.

Time does fly by and I'm holding on tight to all those special times, all the more as my kids get older. Love seeing them mature and become more responsible with the double edged sword being they will be out of the house sooner than later. Many "it" moments indeed :) Hugs to you during this busy time!

I am so with you about taking time to cherish "it." REALLY learned that after I lost both of my parents. Thx for reminding all of us! Pretty card! Love the embossing and the window!

That's really cute! I like how you did more than a sentiment in your non-embossed area. Good job!

Very wise words in your post today. I know it is a cliche, but I cannot believe how my two little girls are already now in high school, and all we seem to talk about is college. How did that happen. Anyway--great job using that technique from class. Perfect way to frame your sweet little scene.

I love that technique from the class and you rocked it here! Such a sweet scene you've stamped!

Life is so very busy with a family, job and kids, eh? I can't imagine how you do it with 4 active boys. But you're absolutely right...stop, take a deep breath and remember to cherish it. Thanks for the reminder, from one momma to another.

Your card..love! Thanks for sharing that awesome tip, I was staring at your card for awhile trying to figure it out and then I read your explanation.

Happy Friday!

I feel you, girl! Life is so crazy, it's wonderful but crazy! Living in the moment is the only way to truly appreciate and relish in the joy. Love this card, love your post and hope he "breaks a leg" at the audition! Theater is the best, I'm a little biased, though! ;) *hugs*

First, gorgeous card Lynn. Love the focal panel sweetly highlighted by the embossing and cut out. And yes, you will blink, and the last of the boys will be graduating from college. I sometimes find myself missing those little boys days, but am enjoying them as they have become husbands and fathers. Your attitude is the exact right one. Cherish. How perfect! Bev

Beautiful and heartfelt post, Lynn! I am on board with you about "cherish it"!! What I don't understand is how you manage to do it all (still find your precious time to comment in my and others' blogs)! Love your gorgeous scene with lots of impact! You make an excellent stamping class student, too, above it all! Hats off to you, my friend!
