With Gratitude

Hello my friends...before I get to my card for today. Proud mama alert!  I'm now the mom to two show choir kids.  Jonathon tried out this past week for middle school show choir and made it!  It's going to get crazy busy around here come January!

Now back to crafting!  I'm popping in with a one layer card for the current CASology challenge. When I saw the silhouette theme I thought about very traditional silhouettes and then I thought about leaves.  I also am liking the trend with offset lines that aren't necessarily symmetrical.  I masked off the bottom portion of the card so that I could ink off the top with distress inks.  I think stamped the leaves in black and removed the mask to stamp the sentiment.  Be prepared for several one layer cards this week...I'm in a one layer mood!

PS thank you all for the prayers for my father-in-law.  He is in a lot of pain, but progressing well.  He was up  sitting in his chair several times yesterday as well as walking.  Today he'll continue on with his therapy with a goal to go up and down the stairs.  Truly amazing!

Ingredients:  The Craft's Meow Golden Days, PaperSmooches Many Thanks

Glad to hear that your FIL is improving. Love this card - the warmth of the colours and the drama of the black silhouettes give it so much depth! (and congrats to Jonathon - you've got a Glee house!)

Show choir can be so much fun. My granddaughter was in her middle school one last year and had the lead in Fame Jr.

I love your silhouetted leaves - and the inked background.

Wow, not one but TWO show choir boys!! You are going to be a busy mama :) Love the maple leaves and the wonderful autumn colours on the card.

Good to hear your FIL is progressing. Remember my dad hugging the pillow they gave him hard every time he got up to keep the rib cage stable and minimize the pain (they gave him a heart shaped pillow and the doctor drew on the bypass lines and all the OR people signed it!)
