Are you wondering what the heck my blog post is about? Well...I thought I'd share what is written on the calendar for November 14th: "TEMPS". Ryan will be 15 1/2 on November 14th and old enough to get his temporary driver's license! Boy does time certainly fly. I have to say when I flipped forward on the calendar to November to write something else down I stopped for a minute in my tracks. Wow! Should be interesting times teaching our first how to drive! Who will be waiting with a beer for Pat and a glass of wine for me to relax us?!
Now...onto my card! I played along with the third Viva La Verve Sketch for this month. Do you like how I'm trying to CASify the sketch? For the oval on the sketch I used embossing folder instead. I love the gray masked stripe with the cherry too...Yummo!

Temps...oh yes, my boy will be eligible in January..gasp. Time flies, eh?
Your card is gorgeous...love the embossing...and the focal point.
In Ontario it is called a G1--boring I like TEMPS better. Right now I call it WHITE KNUCKLES. It will be a G2 for my son really soon--Yikes! Love this card Lynn, great take on that sketch.
adorable! You make stamps so happy and ink them right away! The embossing is the perfect way to add that sketch shape...brilliant! Ah, the temps! We have to wait until we're 16 here and then it's a year long process to get an "N" (novice or new driver) which is a decal on the back of cars. Then it's a 2 year wait for a regular license with strict guidelines about speed and who is in the car with you. Family members are okay, but only one other non family member. I tried to teach Jake, lasted 10 minutes so Dad and Tony and Young Drivers of Canada took over! LOL
What a brilliant idea with the embossed element :) I adore that Christmas set and "joy" is one of my favorites to use. Good luck training a new driver :)
Yup, I remember those days - a nervous wreck I was! I have a feeling Ryan will be a great driver though! Love your pretty card, Lynn - fab idea to use the embossing folder for the oval!
Reallty love the card - very simple!!!
Doesn't seem possible Ryan is that age - can remember when he was just a baby!!!! Makes me feel really old!!!!
Yikes! So glad you're excited, though ;). And what a pretty card! LOVE the red and gray together, and your embossed background is divine!
Way to CASify! Love the embossing on this card!
Wowzers - 15 and a half to start learning to drive? It's 17 over here. Hope you had a successful time letting Ryan behind the wheel! Will you need something stronger than wine? ;D
Hugs!

Wow, time sure does fly! I bet it will be helpful with his brothers when he's able to drive on his own, though! I love the shape of the tag you used, and that medallion embossing on there is beautiful!
I really enjoy your clean and simple take on the sketch! Good luck to Ryan too!
Love how you used that embossing folder for the oval element! And that snowflake peeking out from the corner of the tag is adorable. :)
Good luck with the driving lessons!
Oh... the time does catch up on us! It seemed like yesterday when I practice my first-born with her driving!Love your take on the sketch. The shape and image are daring together!
