Thank You for Everything (and a few memories)

Last week I was reading this post from Stephanie.  It really resonated with me.  I try very hard to capture the little things that happen every day.  Some days I do write them down; other days I don't. So today, I'm going to share a couple simple memories from this the weekend that simply made me smile:
  • Friday night I took Ryan and three friends to the high school football game.  All of these boys I've known since they were really little.  They have moved from wearing sweat pants to games to wearing khaki pants and making sure they are showered before they go.  Jack got in the car, "I'm sorry Mrs. Mangan...I put on too much cologne."  Simply cracked me up as I looked at these boys...no longer little...yet still little at the same time...smiling at me in their nice clothes, sweet smiles and faces that no longer have the pudgy little boy look. Oh so handsome.
  • Friday morning before school, "Marcel and Collin, do you want me to walk you to the bus stop?"  "No mommy, we're okay, but will you please still kiss me here?"  Oh yes my little men, I will kiss you 100 hundred times a day.  The bus stop is only across the street and I watch them cross from inside my window wondering where the time has gone.
  • Sunday morning...hearing that Ryan asked a friend to homecoming!  What....my oldest is going to his first formal dance in two weeks.  I'm trying really hard not to ask 101 questions!
Happy Tuesday friends.  I hope you enjoy my card too...playing along with the Simon's Says We're So Trendy challenge.

Such a pretty card...blooms and chevrons!

awwww...love what you shared. It's it exciting and scary all at the same time how time flies? How the kids change in front of our eyes...sigh.

LOVE those chevrons, Lynn! So pretty! And what great memories! TFS! I was told a couple of Sundays ago, by a mom whose boys just went off to serve in the military, that there comes a point when we don't feel like they're growing up too fast anymore. Ya right?! I don't believe that for a second!

oh, those memories are the sweetest...you're getting me teary eyed! Whenever I talk to Jake on the phone, I picture him as my sweet little 4 year old, not the 24 year old man he is. Always our babies. What a fun chevron card! Love the colours!

Loooove this, Lynn!! The chevrons are fabulous as is the Verve flower. Great card.

Had to smile at your stories about the boys....yes, they do grow up sooo quickly. My son still gives me hugs and kisses at home and I'll take as many as I can get. Even made him promise he would still give me hugs even when he was a teenager LOL! Precious they are and what a wonderful list of things to be tucked away in your mommy heart :)

It's the little things that bring the greatest joy (IMHO!) - how on Earth are you managed to resist asking Ryan for all the details?! LOL!
Such a pretty card - love that bright, fresh colour palette! :)
Hugs!

AWWW! I just love the story about how they still wanted you to kiss them inside :) How sweet! Love the different colored chevrons on your card and the button center of the flower.

Goodness, Lynn, the way you wrote this post makes me feel like it was my own boys going through these things, what wonderful writing and wonderful idea! Your card is the epitome of fall, so beautiful and rustic.
