Marcel's First Baseball Practice

Happy Monday!  This weekend was absolutely gorgeous weather and brought the start of baseball practice.  This is Marcel's first year playing.  To say he's excited would be an understatement!  When he found out who is coach was and that his first practice was in ten days he was asking constantly when his practice was. The questions went like this:
Marcel:  "How many days until the ten days?"
Pat or me:  "Five days until the ten days."
Marcel:  "How many days is the five days until the ten days?"
Pat or me:  "Five."
This went on for the entire ten days :)  And cracked us up.

Then as we got to 2 or 3 days before practice:
Marcel:  "I need to call nana to have her come to my practice."
Jonathon, Collin or Ryan:  "Marcel, it is a practice, not a game."
Marcel:  "My nana wants to see me hit."

And the day before practice:
Marcel:  "I need to call my nana.  What time is my practice?"
Me:  "11:45"
Marcel:  "Okay...you call my nana's phone number."
Marcel:  "Nana.  My practice is at 11:45 at my school.  In the back, by my play set.  And don't you forget.  My practice is at?  What time is it Mommy? It's at 11:45.  Don't forget nana."

And on practice day:
Marcel:  "Mommy.  We need to stop and get a gatorade."
Me: "Okay."
Marcel:  "Mommy, don't you need a chair to sit in?"

So...how many games do you think he has been to for his older brothers in his 6.5 years of life? :)  I'm thinking he's picking up some habits from his older brothers!  Nana doesn't normally come to practices (definitely as many games as possible) and they are always asking for Gatorade, not water.  And the best part...at the end of practice, "How many days until my next practice?"  So far, so good!

PS he looks like a little orphan in this picture...hat is big and his t-shirt is huge! :)

Now that you've read through all that...here's a card for you!  I had more fun playing with my letter press goodies from Erin. A perfect card for the Play Date Cafe challenge this week!  Not my typical color palette but I love it!

Lynn, the texture of the paper for the sentiment is gorgeous. That's good stuff! And the pattern behind is the perfect balance to the clean white area in front of it. Lovely. :)

Thanks for playing with us at The Play Date Cafe this week. :)
