Here's Pat with his little buddy...they still have afternoons together until next year when Marcel is in school all day!
Ready to go...he gave a quick "Bye Mommy..." and off he went without a hitch! I do have a funny story from yesterday. At the beginning of the school year, not all of the kindergarten children start on the same day so that they can do screening. We assumed there were only two days of screening, so we sent him on Thursday. Well...we got a call from school. He wasn't supposed to come back until today....can you tell he's our fourth? We weren't paying enough attention! He didn't mind one bit when I went to get him. The school secretary was laughing. She proclaimed, "He is so sweet!" I'm sure my little chatty boy had no problem keeping the conversation flowing while he waited for me...
Now onto some cards for those of you patiently waiting. I'm playing along with the wonderful inspiration photo for the Embellish Challenge to emboss flowers.
For my first card, I stuck with my CAS theme for the week! I used the Verve Meditations set for the flowers and sentiment and heat embossed the flowers. To add a bit of texture to the card, I used my PTI linen impression plate and inked the edges up slightly.
I had some extra flowers, so I decided to keep creating. I decided to play along with the Viva La Verve Sketch Challenge. I embossed the flowers on Soft Suede paper for the background panel. I am very pleased with both cards...despite the different styles. Let me know what you think!

I am sure that after watching all his older brothers going off to school Marcel was more than ready :) Lovely cards Lynn, that flower stamp is sweet.
Oh what a sweetie he is, Lynn! He melts my heart! Had to giggle at Collin being sent to school too early though I guess a bit of extra school time never hurt no-one *wink*
Beautiful cards as always! You rock that flower stamp showing how it can totally cater whatever style you fancy stamping! I love both cards and you probably know that the first one definitely makes my CAS lovin' heart skip a beat :)

These are beautiful cards Lynn! There is something about the first one though, that draws me in and keeps me captive. I love it. And what a cute story! Something for your little guy to remember for sure!
I love the flowers on these cards but I also love the words as they give me oause for thought and when displayed in such a gorgoeus way it seems to bring more meaning
aw, how sweet is Marcel? I have the exact same pic of Jake on his first day of school...backpack and all :) What a precious moment :) LOVE the Verve cards!! The stamping on the second is amazing and I love how you popped up the flowers as well...very cool texture :)
I love how you used the same flowers and ended up with two such different cards! The ink on the edges of the first one shows off that impression plate beautifully and the embossed panel on the second one really adds a lovely element.
Glad all went well for Marcel on the first day. He looks so cute!
LOL! Cute story! And your cards are gorgeous! Such a pretty color combo! Don't ya think?!
How sweet! I love the story! Such a fun age!
Your card is beautiful! I love the colors and the embossing!!
I, too, am very pleased. :) Hee. Actually WAY more than pleased! These are fantastic. I'm with Amy; you've stolen my CAS-loving heart with that first one, though.
I love how you've used the Verve sketch here. Those flowers look amazing. Love your "school" story....I had a little chuckle!
