Two Challenges in One

The title of this post could have been, "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again..."  I wanted to try to combine two challenges into one:  CAS-ual Fridays Get Edgy and the Waccky Color Challenge over at a Passion for PaperTrey.  I pulled out some chipboard borders I've had for quite some time and made this card.  My thought was, "BLAH..."
Ingredients:  Chipboard:  My Mind's Eye Laundry Line; Stamps: PTI; cardstock:  SU Whisper White and Real Red

So I waited a day and create this card...happiness.  Much happier with this one...
Ingredients:  Stampin' UP Real Red and Whisper White Cardstock; PTI Simply Stationery and Botanical Silhouettes Stamps; SU Ink (all colors) and Real Red Ribbon

What do you think? :)

I like the first one but it feels unfinished. Needs a little something else...
The second one is fabulous! Lots of pow to it! :)

I like them both, however the first one needed just one more thing...a ribbon like the second one or a flower. The second is perfect just the way it is. Great colors on both! :)

I love 'em both, Lynn! I think the chipboard on the first one looks really cool and the colors on the second one are beautiful!

Whatever mojo you have going on right now, you need to bottle it and sell it for millions of dollars, because -- and I know I've said this already -- you're cards are looking spectacular lately! LOVE that second one.

They're both great - but I guess my second one is the favorite.

I like both card, but I do like the 2nd one a bit better simply because it has more colorful stamping and that makes the card so much more interesting to me...and of course ,the border treatment is delicious! Thanks so much for playing with us at CAS-ual Fridays!

I love them both, but my fave is definitely number 2. From far away, the medallions stamped on the bottom looked like they were cross-stitched. Love it! Thanks so much for playing with us at CAS-ual Fridays!

Love how you used that image from Simply Stationery on the second card. (Such a versatile PTI set... I love it, too, and don't use it nearly often enough!) Love how you used the colors, too. :)

They are both very nice cards. I agree with the person who suggested a flower on the first card to just "jazz" it up a little.
