Red & White - Nearing the Finish!

Hello...almost to the end of the Christmas cards!  Yahoo!  It has been a really long time since I've used my embossing folders.  I am loving them (again!). My card today is using two embossing folders (both from Sizzix.)  and my color inspiration is from this week's Play Date Cafe Challenge - Red & White.  Super easy to make these cards in mass and they definitely appeal to my clean & simple side.

Version 1 - Edges inked in Ranger Antique Linen.
Version 2 - No ink on the edges.  Which do you like better?
Ingredients:  Stampin' Up Cherry Cobbler Paper/Ribbon; Sizzix Embossing Folders, Ranger Distress Ink - Antique Linen

WOW! Lynn, these are gorgeous! I love them both, but prefer the all white version. I've used VersaMark Watermark in champagne and heated it and it gave it a nice shimmer ( applied it same as you would distress ink).

Simply gorgeous, it is amazing to see the difference a touch of ink makes. Since you've asked, I think I prefer the one without ink, I think the stark white looks more classic against that shade of red.

I'm always a fan of inked edges and in this case the inking on the center panel really makes the embossing pop. Love the overall clean and simple style of both. Gorgeous as always, Lynn! :)

Now you just know that I love them both but the last one really captures my CAS lovin' side!
I think if you emboss a panel of Kraft and do the same thing, you'll achieve a really warming almost gingerbread look - yummy!

so what did you and Marcel get at Michaels? lol...that's so cute :) embossing is a great way to add pizzazz with bulk...good call!! I think I like the inked version just because you can read the Merry Christmas more easily...but I also like the clean crisp white...I have 10 made and 10 half made so I'm pleased with myself. I'm using the PaperCrafts Christmas magazine as sketch inspiration...having fun with them actually...it's not seeming like a chore :) Will post later in the week :) hugs

Hi Lynn: Trying this? I prefer the first one - makes the Merry Christmas stand out.

I like them both, but I am partial to the inked one...maybe because I am into my distress inks lately.

I prefer the uninked one here, though I might still ink the sentiment a bit to make it stand out a bit more. I'd prob use red, black or green (judiciously).
I haven't been embossing enough, either, to my way of thinking. It sure can make a card!

Two great cards Lynn. I like the all white one best, although the sentiment does pop more when inked.

I LOVE the all white card.....I'm fast becoming a fan of white on white! Aren't embossing folders just the best?

Thanks for stopping by and leaving me such a lovely comment, Lynn! Both of your cards are fantastic. I like how the inked sentiment pops in the first version, yet, there is something that makes me prefer the all white one. It is so crisp and classy! Fabulous job :)
