Merry Christmas (in June!)

This is my first of four Christmas card posts this week...I have my Christmas paper stash out and I've purchased a few new Christmas papers here and there.  Time to decide what my Christmas card is going to look like this year...or just make a whole bunch of different ones and send a variety! Thanks to Stampin' 411 for the sketch inspiration!

I also have a funny story to share about Collin.  His big brother, Ryan, got a cell phone a few weeks ago (a very big deal for a 13 year old!).  Well, Collin has been a little jealous.  He regularly says, "I want a cell phone...for Christmas, I'm putting a cell phone, DSI and a digital camera on my Christmas list for Santa."  This conversation has been going on every day since the arrival of Ryan's phone.  Fast forward to last night.  We're on our way home from Ryan's baseball game and I hear a phone ringing in the car.  Ryan isn't in the car, but I assume he left his phone in the car (it only rang once or twice).  Collin pleads innocence to hearing anything.  We then go out to dinner and he is very still at dinner (which is very unlike Collin).  As we're getting out of the car, a pink cell phone drops onto the garage floor.  There aren't any pink cell phone owners at our house!  I've now concluded he was hiding the phone in his shirt while we were at dinner...thus the stillness. When I asked Collin where he got it, Marcel answered.  "It was by the monkey bars."  The boys had been at the play set by the baseball field.  A teenage girl has left it sitting there probably as she played and Collin considered it his. Thankfully the battery wasn't dead so I was able to call her home phone number. The phone has been returned and Collin has been spending quite a bit of time today writing, "I will not steal."  Followed by lots of conversations of how Santa doesn't bring toys to little boys that steal.  Look at this sweet face of my little thief...wonder how he got the name Gentle Devil?  Quiet but devilish little man...

I love this christmas card, the music notes on the paper are a wonderful touch to a christmas card. Your little boy looks like such a sweetie. Parenting can be so challenging at times, but so worth it.

Butter wouldn't melt...he is a cutie. Love the phone story, to pick up a pink phone would indicate that he is certainly very keen to have one of his own lol.

Love your Christmas card, and I ended up doing just what you mentioned last year...I was making lots of samples for Christmas card classes, so I just used all of the samples for my own cards! Also, love the story about Collin, I'm sure all moms can relate in some way! Thanks for sharing :)

I love this card, Lynn! Your story about your son and the pink cellphone is hilarious. Parenting definitely has its surprises, doesn't it? :)
