Last week I was reading this post from Stephanie. It really resonated with me. I try very hard to capture the little things that happen every day. Some days I do write them down; other days I don't. So today, I'm going to share a couple simple memories from this the weekend that simply made me smile:
- Friday night I took Ryan and three friends to the high school football game. All of these boys I've known since they were really little. They have moved from wearing sweat pants to games to wearing khaki pants and making sure they are showered before they go. Jack got in the car, "I'm sorry Mrs. Mangan...I put on too much cologne." Simply cracked me up as I looked at these boys...no longer little...yet still little at the same time...smiling at me in their nice clothes, sweet smiles and faces that no longer have the pudgy little boy look. Oh so handsome.
- Friday morning before school, "Marcel and Collin, do you want me to walk you to the bus stop?" "No mommy, we're okay, but will you please still kiss me here?" Oh yes my little men, I will kiss you 100 hundred times a day. The bus stop is only across the street and I watch them cross from inside my window wondering where the time has gone.
- Sunday morning...hearing that Ryan asked a friend to homecoming! What....my oldest is going to his first formal dance in two weeks. I'm trying really hard not to ask 101 questions!
Happy Tuesday friends. I hope you enjoy my card too...playing along with the Simon's Says We're So Trendy challenge.
