This card is using the exact same papers from last week's Stampin' 411 card...and I'm using them again for this week's sketch. I turned the sketch upside down to make the card. This card is actually for Ryan's girlfriend. First time making a birthday card for a girlfriend. Also the first time buying a gift for a girl too...bit of a double whammy buying a gift for her birthday (on Christmas day) and Christmas! He did very well thought and I liked his choice of papers for her birthday card!
Ingredients: Basic Grey DSP: PTI Stamps; Stampin' Up Baja Breeze Paper and Whisper Whtie Ribbon; Kaiser Kraft GemsHope all your holiday preparations are going well. I spent the better part of four hours baking yesterday. Two things about me: I really don't like to bake...and I don't have a green thumb. I was chuckling at myself as I was working on making cookies. I burnt chocolate for a very simple recipe and then looked over at the poinsettas I bought from a boy in our neighborhood who was selling them for a fundraiser. They were almost dead due to lack of water! So...I'm self aware! I shouldn't own plants and I'm not the best at baking!

Oh that won't be the first card to make for girlfriend will it! :)
Really love all the stitching on this - and the added touches of bling too!
Had to giggle about your green thumb and baking - I'm exactly the same! I go for store bought cookies *wink*
Oooh and congrats on your win over on the Go-To Sketch challenge!

Fun post today, Lynn! As you already know, I can totally relate to the baking thing! Sounds like something I would do! As far as the poinsettia goes, I do work in the floral department of a grocery store, so I'm one up on you, I guess. :) Most people water their poinsettias too much. To make you feel better, they really can be a difficult plant. Love your sweet card for Ryan's girlfriend! Beautiful paper and stitching! It's always weird at first when they start dating, isn't it? I have two boys ages 15 and 19 and I remember those first girlfriends. *sigh* Have a good day!
lol, I have to laugh because when Jake comes home, he always picks a card for his girlfriend...it will be a Christmas card needed this time...maybe she'll get that funky Peace on Earth one!! But Ryan even picked the colours? He did good!! I really need to get into that paper...I just love it!! I hear ya on killing plants...the only thing that survives here is the rubber tree plant that my mom started for me when I moved out 17 years ago. It warns me it needs water when a leaf turns yellow!! LOL Oh, I bought a very realistic fake poinsettia for my classroom!!!! At Michaels and they're all on sale!! Have a great day :) hugs!
Darling card-the girlfriend will love it :)
I used to love baking when I lived near sea level but at altitude it is noooo fun! Nothing turns out like its supposed to ;(
