Happy 50th Molly! {and parade pics}

Pat's sister, Molly, is celebrating her 50th at the end of this month. When I saw the fabulous inspiration card from Shari Carroll over at CASE Study, I was immediately inspired to make a card for Molly.  This is my first of two cards this week that will have no stamping on it!  I cut the 50 out on my Cricut and the stickers are Simple Stories that I've had for a while.

I thought I'd also share a couple of pictures from Loveland's 4th of July parade.  Marcel and Jonathon both walked in the parade as part of Loveland's Stage Company's group. They were proudly wearing their Oliver t-shirts.  Both of them ran out of candy before they got to us.  I love Jonathon's smile in this picture.  He had to run and get Marcel from the other side of the street so that we could see him.

And here's Collin with Jonthan's good friend, Cam.  They were enjoying kettle corn while watching the parade.  The weather was gorgeous all weekend and we stayed in Loveland to watch a local band, The Rusty Griswolds (great 80s music) and the fireworks.  Tons of friends were there too. A great night.

As I type this, I'm having the perfect end to my weekend, watching the Wimbledon finals. A great match so far!  I hope you all had a relaxing holiday weekend too.

Woot! Woot! It's Your Birthday!

Good morning!  I'm keeping it short and sweet as I got up early today to get a bit of work done...and well...I'm procrastinating!  So, I'm popping in very quickly to share a card inspired by this week's CASE Study.  I loved the overlapping colors and decided to try and mirror the same thing with stamping playing with CAS-ual Fridays Loving Blooms set.

Hope you are having a great Sunday...looks like it is going to be a rainy one here!

Inspired by Maile

Happy Monday my friends!  We had a rainy afternoon yesterday so it was the perfect day to pop into the craft room.  I think my craft room was taken over by my die cuts.  I think I need to reorganize how I'm storing them because clearly they weren't making it back into where they should be stored!  But enough of that...you might have come by to see a card!  I have two to share with you both inspired by Maile's gorgeous card over at CASE Study.  To say that I love Maile's style would be an understatement!  Both cards use the inspiration to have a die slightly over the edge and lots of white space.

My second card below also using one of Maile's signature elements...silk ribbon bows.  This entire card was inspired by the My Mind's Eye chipboard Dream Big banner that I had.  I used the colors on the plaid to determine the colors of my stamped image.  Have a favorite?  I'd love to hear what you think!

PS A big huge thanks for all of your comments on my post from yesterday.  I appreciate you all so very much!

Hoping Your Birthday is a Grand Slam (CASE Study DT Entry)

Hello there, I love seeing the amazing creations for the CASE Study Challenge each week and welcome the opportunity to play along!  It's so cool to see how we all interpret each other's work...so I thought I would take the opportunity to try out for the CASE Study DT.  I immediately went to work looking through Moe's blog.  Moe has such amazing talent!  Her ability to mix/match patterned papers, add embellishments and the absolutely perfect sentiment is incredible.  At first, I was going to CASE this card with all of these gorgeous flowers, but I make a cards with flowers, so I kept looking through her gorgeous creations and came across this card. It was the perfect opportunity to use my new PTI Seventh Inning Stretch set and matching dies.  You can tell that I took the inspiration from Moe's layout.  Instead of the circles for curling, I created a baseball diamond. Also, instead of the bow, I used a touch of twine.
Here's Moe's inspiration card up close and personal!  It's it absolutely fabulous?

And since my card has a baseball theme, I couldn't help but share pictures of baseball from this weekend!  Starting in the top left...could Marcel be any cuter?  I love the eye black underneath his eyes (one of his teammates brought it).  They look very professional.  I have to say Marcel is terrified of batting.  We're working on it!  Next up is Collin...he is so tiny but he is very confident at the plate.  He took last year off and is enjoying baseball a lot more this year.  And the pictures of Jonathon...you can see where he gets the nickname "Slim Shady".  He's so skinny and has hit a bit of a growth spurt.  He's pitching for the first time this year.  Pretty exciting...and I'm sure these will be the first of many photos.  Ryan isn't playing this year (he's all in for show choir and drama)...but he and Jonathon are both umpiring so I'm sure I'll snap a few pictures of him at the field too!

29 Again? Valentine's Day Boxes and a Fun Announcement

Happy happy Valentine's Day to you!  I hope that you get to have a romantic day with the one you love!  I'll have an early night tonight as I have to get up super early tomorrow to drive to and from Pittsburgh for a client meeting, but I'm looking forward to spending the evening with all of my boys :)!  I have a quick card to share with you for my friend, Julie.  We'll be celebrating her 50th this weekend!  It is following the CASE the Sketch (which expired two days ago...woops!)  Didn't even look at the date when I pulled it up last night!

I thought you'd get a kick out of Collin and Marcel's Valentine boxes for school.  Collin created the robot above with the base as a kleenex box.  He did this all on his own. I think it is awesome!  We'll see if it makes it to school in one piece!  I have a funny story to share too.  Last night I was printing out Valentine bingo cards for Collin's class.  He's looking at them and says to me, "Mommy, we have a problem. Everyone is going to win bingo at the same time."  I had printed out all of the same cards.  I started cracking up.  I would never have caught it...that would have been brilliant on my part!  Good thing he catches the details :).

And Marcel's is a bit more traditional above!  He had fun with the punches in my craft room.

And last, but definitely, definitely, not least!  Guess what?!  I'll be guest designing over at The Craft's Meow this week!  The new release starts next week...and let me tell you, you will definitely not be disappointed!
Have a fabulous Valentine's Day!

Back to Reality...

...back from an absolutely fantastic weekend of scrapbooking. The boys and our family scrapbook are caught up through September.  Now it's on to Halloween pictures and birthday party pictures for Marcel and Jonathon.  Love getting away with my three sister-in-laws that scrapbook and my dear friends.  We laughed A LOT!!

Here's a couple of photos from our weekend.  Taken on the way out the door as no one wanted to have their pictures taken on Saturday when only half the group had showered!
Our retake...Rhonda was in the bathroom when we took our first picture and Kara & Kim had left...we certainly couldn't leave out Rhonda!
I also made a few cards yesterday morning.  Chrissy accidentally bought two of the PTI tag sets....so of course I had to buy one from her and immediately ink it up for this card.  Inspired by the CASE Study card layout!
Ingredients:  Stampin Up Pretty in Pink Paper/Ink; Cherry Cobbler Ink/Paper; Regal Rose Ink/Ribbon; PTI 2010 Christmas Tags and Circle Die; Kaiser Kraft Gems
