Time Out Challenge: Home Sweet Home Inspiration

Hello there...check out this gorgeous inspiration photo for the current Time Out Challenge.  Wow! Oh how I love crisp white space with pops of color.  I love it and could create a lot of cards inspired by this photo.  You could even pick up the smaller elements in the background like the sweet little sailboat.  You can see I took my inspiration from the crisp white and the butterflies.  I stamped on my Studio Calico butterfly (took this inspiration from a card in Card Creations), added a touch of thread to soften up the wood elements just a bit and added a sentiment.
Please pop on over to the Time Out Challenge blog to check out the gorgeous creations from the Time Out team and of course take time out to play along with us.

And...I wanted to say a great big thank you to all of the participants in our first challenge. The entries to our Dancing in the Rain challenge were gorgeous.  We'll post the winners next Thursday!  I look forward to seeing you play along again next week!

  1. Just CAS perfection! The pattern you have created on the butterfly is almost spot on the same as in the photo! I have been meaning to ask what is the thread you use when you do this accent behind a die cut, and how do you make it look so neat. I have tried it and it just won't go where I want it to. I have seen Aimes do this too. Only when you have time to mail me Lynn, I know time is busy for you at the mo x

  9. Wonderful card, Lynn. Not only does the thread soften the image but I love the symbolicness (?) of it - you know, thread count in the linens. Sorry. I couldn't resist.

  15. This is just gorgeous. I love how you stamped right on that butterfly, and also how you used the thread. I have yet to try to tackle decorative thread. I find it very intimidating, yet striking.

  18. Lynn, I've been working my way back through all of the many cards I've missed while I've been away from the blogging world. I'm convinced you cannot make a card that I won't love. I'm amazed at the variety of layouts, colors, and "feels" your are able to achieve with each one. What a feast for the eyes. I'm definitely going to have to come back soon so I can sit and really take in the fabulousness of each card.
