Hello friends. Let's talk about trends! There are so many trends going on right now (as guess that is always the case!), but I don't feel like I can keep up. Today's card features one of the trends I have stayed away from until now: a gorgeous word die. When PaperSmooches came out with their dies, I had been wanting to purchase the die that goes with the Hope set. So, on Saturday, I made this card combined with a couple of stamps and the PTI Linen Impression plate. My CAS loving heart loves the end result.
Now...there are a whole bunch of other trends that I haven't jumped into yet (or maybe ever...there never seems to be quite enough time. Here are the ones I haven't tried yet:
- Sequins
- Mixed media
- Feathers
I love what I see created with them, but can't seem to figure out how I would use them. What about you? Any trends you want to try? Any trends you simply love right now?
Ingredients: Stamps: PaperSmooches Hope and coordinating die; Spiritual Sampler

my CAS loving heart,,,,,,thinks this is adorable-the polka dots are perfect. I would like to try this die cut word trend but haven't gone there yet....if we did everything we would be broke! I like the feathers thing but not so much the sequins x
Glad you jumped on the word trend because this card is gorgeous, CAS perfection!
I've hopped on the feather train but haven't joined in with the mixed media or sequins as of yet. Sequins maybe one day...
I love your card...that die is wonderful and I keep thinking I want to get that PTI linen one.
Love sequins and feathers :) I wish I had more energy to dabble in the mixed media.
AWESOME!
Thats it!
Fabulous! Love how you used the word die! Love the textured background, too!
I LOVE this CAS perfection, Lynn! I have jumped on all of the trends you mentioned except for, mixed media! Totally out of my comfort zone. :)
This has to be my all time favorite card of yours! Absolutely love the CAS look of this! Just beautiful...
Hi Lynn you made a wonderful, elegant CAS card today! I am definitely not a trend watcher, it takes me a long time to warm up to a particular trend! But your card makes me think about 'word die' now!! ;)
well, that die is just fall down on the floor fabulous! Easy to break into a trend with that one! And in any colour or patterned paper you like! I'm all over the chalkboard trend still...I have the sequins but always forget to use it! LOL I say the word dies are a hit!
What a fabulous card, Lynn! LOVE that gorgeous word die!
Well, you aced this trend BIG time! Love the card :) I'm behind on trends too - mind you I tend to buck trends for the most part, so nothing new there, or when I finally decide to give it a go it's over or no the way out LOL!
Love your ultra trendy CAS card! ;)
I love the way the word die fits into the sentiment. Very classy. I'm not much into trends although I have thought about some sequins. Oh, I did get into the hexagon die but I think that's from my quilting background.
gorgeous! I haven't done any of these yet, either.... but I ahve bought some old books and things to try a mixed media art journal. we will see! This is gorgeous, love the word cut from DP :)
The polka dots and background texture are perfect Lynn. I haven't tried the rest of your trend list either :)
Love this! great choice of pp & stamp mix. I find things move so fast now that it's hard to keep up. Not too much into feathers, but am trying the mix media.
still loving chevrons and hexagons...
Clean, simple, and yet oh-so-elegant! Great card!
I love playing with new trends, but I tend to keep in mind that what's "in" today, could be "out" tomorrow, I saw a Pinterest board once that read: Today's Chevrons could be tomorrow's shag carpet. I got a chuckle out of that.
This is gorgeous! I think "hope" is the perfect word to jump on this trend with! :) just an outstanding card!
Brilliant :) love how only words can create a CAS perfection, love the polka dots
The wordy die is something trendy I have yet to try! Your card shows the perfect example! You know I used tons of sequins already...and of course, I look forward to trying the other trends with my latest blog post :)
This is fabulous! I love it!
Love!!!
Well this couldn't be any more perfect. I just love that you used the teensy polka dot paper for the die cut word to give it that extra "something". I'm hit and miss with trends--it has to be something that really speaks to me to try it. Love sequins, on the fence over feathers, and definitely too much of a perfectionist to try mixed media!
