Having been away this week on work, I was itching to sneak away to my craft room for a few minutes last night. I was thinking about the MUSE challenge and the fabulous inspiration card (shown below). So...about 8:30 I went (well maybe ran) downstairs to make a card. I decided to use purple for the inspiration color and I loved the thicker twine on the inspiration card as well. So off I went in search of purple patterned papers. I really don't have very many! But...it all worked out and I'm pleased with the end result. This card will be popped in the mail today to someone who is very, very dear to me!
And in a bit, I'll be off to the last normal show choir competition of the year before show choir nationals the first weekend of April. Pat will be getting Marcel and Jonathon to baseball practice...I hope that means that the spring weather is arriving.
Guess what else is happening around our house? Ryan has his temporary license and asks to drive often. He's doing well, but did ask me last night when he was driving home from his friend's house what the big gasp was that I gave? I may or may not have been concerned about his driving!
Have a great Saturday my friends!
Delightful card, Lynn! Love love the white space and contrast! And wow, Ryan is driving, huh? I know you must have mixed feelings about that! Hang on tight now! Happy weekend to you!
ReplyDeleteLove your card ... so light and fresh. Teaching my girls to drive was the scariest parenting job!! Still got my son to go.
ReplyDeleteYou know I love a bit of purple! And it looks so gorgeous with this simple white twine, great Muse card Lynn. Have a fab weekend xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Lynn! So very pretty!
ReplyDeleteMy son turns 15 on Monday so I have a little bit before he gets his permit. I am sure there will be quite a few "gasps" coming from me when he starts driving too. :)
Such a lovely, pretty card ... love all the white space! Anita :)
ReplyDeleteSpeedy cards are fun sometimes, don't think, just do. Love how you ran with the interpretation :)
ReplyDeleteLove your card, Lynn! I can not imagine being in the card with a new driver. Not looking forward to that part of child rearing! I am sure I will be gasping every second, so maybe I will leave that task to dad! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the purple as the background to the flowers :) Your special someone will love it :) LOL, I think Ryan should just be happy you let him drive! Jake started learning after we had our big car accident so I was nervous as can be. Dad and Tony and Young Drivers of Canada taught him :) And I'm happy to say it was 2 years after he got his license that I was okay to have him drive me :) I clench the arm rest when Tony drives :) lol
ReplyDeleteReally pretty, well worth digging out your purple stash :0)
ReplyDeleteGood to hear Ryan is getting lots of practice in.

Such a cute, cute card, Lynn! Love those polka dotted flowers and the way you angles the amethyst colour. Your friend will love it :)
ReplyDeleteMy son will be on a very short leash with driving I'm sure LOL! Takes nerves of steel to train these kids to drive! I have already begun teaching them about how 95% of driving is defensive and thinking ahead and about what the other drivers could do. Hopefully some if it sinks in before they get behind the wheel :)
Have a great weekend and good luck to the choir!!
Lynn you chose the most beautiful colours for your card. Love those flower and your sweet bow!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors and sweet flowers! Love that twine!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet card - love those polka dot flowers!
ReplyDeleteAs for Ryan on the road - I don't envy the task of teaching someone how to drive. Lots of patience required!
Hugs!

Glad you dug out the purple pp because this card turned out fabulously! I enjoyed seeing what inspired you from the card! I didn't get my licence till I was married and 24! I wonder what it will be like when that time comes here! I bet you can't believe your there!
ReplyDeleteLove the colour combo. The white space really makes it pop.
ReplyDeleteCan't begin to imagine doing the whole driving thing. We are just hitting the tweens with our oldest so it's a while yet but, I'm sure it will come quickly.
As usual your card is absolutely beautiful. I find it really difficult to match purples too and it's always been my fave colour, so I tend not to use it too much on my cards, funny that.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Lynn!
ReplyDeleteI love the stitched look of the flowers and leaves!
This is so sweet...I don't have much in the way of purples in my stash either so what do I do? I bought 2 new Impress Fresh Inks in purple...LOL...thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteLove that flower arrangement and that bow is so precious. Beautiful card! :)
