Start Where You Are, But Don't Stay There {and a question}

Hello, hello, hello!  I'm here today to share two gorgeous new CAS-ual Fridays sets with you!  Three new sets will be released on Friday!  My first card below is using the new set, Breathe.  I think this wins as my favorite of the three sets this month.  They are all fabulous, but somehow this set spoke to me!  I had fun stamping off to create the graphic pattern on the left hand side of the card.

My second card is one Michele featured yesterday on the CAS-ual Fridays Stamp blog and features the Beanstalk set.  I stamped the image multiple times in Versamark, embossed the images and then used a variety of distress inks to ink up the embossed panel.  This will be a beautiful sympathy card or a card to let a friend know that I'm thinking of them.
Be sure to stop on over to the CAS-ual Fridays blog for more inspiration from the design team.

{today's question}
And I have a question for you (if you've made it to the bottom of this post!): What do you do with clear stamps that will no longer stick to your acrylic block?

  1. Oh, new stamps! I love them! What a great saying! I love it as it inspires me as a teacher :) I'm looking forward to a short week full of festivities! I know the answer to your question! You just give them a nice little bubble bath (I use dish soap and warm water), dry them and voila! They will be sticky again! I've read it on the back of some stamp sets and have done it myself. It really works!

  2. I understand why 'breathe' is your favorite.
    It's lovely! And your card even more!
    Those colors are perfect!
    I didn't have an answer to your question, but thanks to Maureen I know now! ;)

  3. Hi Lynn! Love your gorgeous cards! That sentiment on the first one is awesome!

    I read Maureen's answer to your question and have tried it too. Sometimes it works for me but not always. The easier, and I must admit, lazier way, is to add a bit of my tape runner adhesive to the acrylic block and place the stamp on top of that. t works for my cling stamps too!

  6. Oh Lynn, be still my heart! The first card is my favorite ever, the colors & design are just stunning!I can't wait to see more of that set!!!
    I soak my non-sticky stamps in warm water with dish soap. Then rinse, dry & they are good as new :)

  7. I wash with dish soap and then let them air dry. I noticed that some clear stamps collect lint from dish towels and paper towel making them less sticky.

  8. Lynn, I can't remeber the name of the stuff, but it is the lightest weight clear plastic like you would have for a table cover over a table cloth. An 1/8 of a yard will probably be all you need to cover your blocks and will cost you pennies.

  9. Lynn I just love both of your cards! I am looking forward to getting these stamps to play with! Thank you for your beautiful inspiration!

  11. Love your cards. Intrigued by those "strokes". Looking forward to checking out that stamp set. I too wash my stamps and blocks in dish soap and warm water. If that doesn't do the trick swipe across the back with 2-way glue, let it dry. Makes for a sticky back.

  13. Yeah for new stamps :) Love the soft colours you used - lovely work on both. Give your stamps a gentle bubble bath and they will stick again no problem :)

  15. Fabulous cards, Lynn! I really love the bright, almost neons, in the first. Those colors are uber popular this year!

    I maybe should've read what everyone else wrote in response to your question, because you may already have what you're looking for, but I just wash up good with soap and water.

  17. LOVE them all but especially Peace and Comfort! Maureen is right! Mine prefer Dawn dishwashing detergent - but I've also - this is gross! - licked the back of one or two if I was stamping and in a hurry! REALLY gross, isn't it???!!! But it works for the short term!
