One of things I like to do with my blog is to quickly capture memories with my boys. Although I don't have a new picture of him today, my little man, Marcel, cracks me up. Everyday conversations with him keep us smiling often. Here are a few of the conversations from the last week that had us smiling:
- When watching the Grammy's on Sunday, "Hey mommy, I don't understand why this show is called the Grammy's. There is none Grandmas on this show."
- When I asked how is day was (on Valentine's Day): "It was spectacular mommy. I got to decorate my own cookie."
- And when I asked how the hockey game (Cincinnati Cyclones) game was last night. "It was great. I did the shimmy a lot." And then proceeded to show me the shimmy followed by how he dances to gangnam style. Pat took him and Collin to the game as a special treat. Pat said Marcel danced his way through the entire game and Collin was fixated on how hard they crashed when they played.
I love everyday conversations with him. Not a shy bone in his body and he certainly loves live!
Now...if you've stuck around, here's my card today. I'm trying really hard to not always use white card stock both for card bases and die cute images. So a made a set of 8 cards using all color and inspired by this fabulous CAS Case this Sketch. Happy Saturday.
Oh, how I LOVE to capture things children say! I used to be better about keeping a little notebook for each of them in the kitchen for such occasions. Even kept a tiny one in my purse just in case! :) Haven't kept up so well in the last couple years, so thank you for the reminder!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your white-less card! I need to work on that myself! White is just such a comfortable base for me anymore! :)
Lynn, I loved reading about the sweet conversations you have with Marcel! I think it's so smart of you to write them down here so your boys will be able to come back and have these wonderful memories - so important!
ReplyDeleteYour card is beautifully CAS! Thanks for reminding us that our card bases don't always have to be white! :)
There isn't a shy bone in any of you!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to use the pink card stock. It makes a change and looks great with the green leaf. I have a theory though......you made a set so you would feel better going back to white on your next design....am I right coz???
Lynn I agree that the everyday conversations with your children are the most wonderful memories to capture! I love you sweet ones this week. Your card today is beautiful and I think it is a great challenge to yourself about the white cardstock. I tend to do the same. Your have inspired me!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're recording them - kids really do say the darndest things! I love your card - the ultimate in simplicity - beautiful soft colours! Thanks so much for playing along with us at CTS this week!
ReplyDeleteGreat stories of your youngest. My dad always tells me you would need a little voice recorder to capture all the cute things they say. :) I love how cheerful and pretty your card is. The little pop of yellow is a perfect finish!
ReplyDeleteokay, how adorable are your boys?! I'm glad to see he's now outgrowing his confidence :) AND how adorable is that little blossom on the leaves? I'll admit to overusing white too! LOL What a difference a little colour makes :) Hope your weekend is going well. I've just arrived home from shopping and the gym. ox
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet design, love your placement of the sentiment and the rounded corner.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing with us at CAS(E) this Sketch this week!
Treasure these conversations Lynn... I am lucky if I get a couple of grunts from my son these days :) Love the pink card base - such a sweet card :)
ReplyDeleteYour sons are the best (except mine, LOL)
ReplyDeleteYour card is so lovely with the pink base and the sweet flower.
Have a nice sunday,
Judith
Lynn, I always love reading the things you post about your boys. Conversations with Marcel are at the top of the list. So adorable. I hope we get to meet him next month.
ReplyDeleteI love the pure simplicity of this card. Just perfect! Why don't I ever just sit down and make some cards like this?
Gotta love what kids say..haha. Love this beautiful CAS card too.
ReplyDeleteMarcel is so cute. Aren't the kids the smartest the human?
ReplyDeleteYour card is so pretty and fresh!

Fabulous use of the sketch. That little flower is darling. I hope you are writing a lot of these wonderful statements down LOL! Totally priceless! Lots of Gangnam dancing in this house too :)
ReplyDeleteHow sweet! I have a little notebook that I try to keep little things the boys say in. Time goes so fast and they start editing what they say far too quickly. I love these sweet little conversations and I'm so happy you shared them. Your card is super cook and it's the perfect take on the sketch!
ReplyDeleteLOVE how you are sharing what your sweet boy says and does! I MISS those days and wish I had written it all down. LOVE how you used pink for the card base!
ReplyDeleteLove this, Lynn!
ReplyDeleteHad to laugh about Marcel's remark about the Grammies!! What will he think of the Oscars!!
ReplyDeleteLove how you've kept true to the sketch with a super CAS design Lynn, I really need to try coloured bases a bit more too :0)

LOL! You seriously need to put all the Marcel-isms into a book: "Marcel Says the Darndest Things!" And you gotta get some video of him doing the Gangnam Style dance!
ReplyDeleteLoving this sweet, super CAS card - such a great design for a gift set.
Oh your Marcel is just fabulous - he cracks me up!
ReplyDeleteOh your card has me hoping for spring...it is coming, right?!
Hugs!
