Our Neck of the Woods...

Hi there...what's happening in your neck of the woods?  We're getting busy preparing for Christmas and looking forward to stopping and enjoying time with our family.    Here's a few things we've been up to over the last couple of weeks:

The holiday show choir concert which also featured solos from current members and high school alumni.  It was an amazing night.  The highlight for us was Ryan playing the piano and singing with two of his friends. They wrote the song themselves.  I'm still beaming from ear to ear at how amazing they were.  I wish I had the video...but they haven't posted it yet, so the picture will have to do.  I can't really express how incredible it is to watch your child have the confidence to play the piano and sing in front of a full auditorium.  I am so proud (as if you couldn't tell)!

And here's Marcel at his Christmas concert.  In addition to singing, the children did a lot of dancing to the music as well.  It was oh so sweet and I loved how their music teacher is teaching them to feel the music.  We are really blessed to have a great arts program in our school.

Of course, I have a card to share for this week's Retro Sketch.   This card is nice and bright and is for a co-worker who has decided to make a career change and move from Cincinnati to Austin, Texas.  A big change for her, but a very exciting one and I'm thrilled for her.

Sounds like a fun night filled with music and you are so right to be a beaming Mom. I probably would of been in the audience crying.
The card looks fun and I am sure your co-worker will enjoy it.
