Craft Room Update - After

Thanks for all your comments from yesterday...now the after photos!
  • We moved the cabinets to the other side of the room.
  • We added two chocolate cabinets below - soon we will have a counter go around the corner and on top of the two cabinets.
    • On the left, it is a paper holder for 8.5" x 11" papers....plenty of room for lots more paper.
    • On the right, four drawers:  top is for 6x6 paper, adhesives in the second, one empty and the bottom has pictures, school items, etc. to be scrapbooked.
    • The plastic crates are Collin's supplies.

This is the wall as you walk into the room:
  • We bought this shelf from Kohl's.
  • On top is my Sizzix and sewing machine.
  • In each bin I have: punches, bigger sizzix dies, chipboard and three dimensional items I have made.
  • The pink binder has my dies and the little basket has sewing supplies.

I love this organization piece above the Sizzix...it is two magnetic knife holders.  It is the perfect place to hold the dies that I'm not quite ready to put away.  No shock that my PTI Linen Impression Plate is up there!

This is the wall to the left as you walk in the room. It used to have cabinets across the top and bottom.
  • On the bottom, Pat installed two cube drawers from Target. On the top he added, the smaller cabinets. It holds up to 12 CD baskets.  Of the eight baskets I have in there so far, six are full with stamps.
  • In the bottom baskets I have extra scrapbooking pages, envelopes, cricut cartridges, bulkier scrapbook supplies, etc.
  • I also have Cropper Hopper paper holders for my 12x12 paper. It is mainly solid color paper.  I don't have a lot of 12x12 patterned paper anymore.  Over the last couple of years I've transition to Project Life so this has really cut down the amount of 12x12 papers I purchase.
  • The smaller boxes contain envelopes of all sizes, alphabet stickers and one box is devoted to Christmas stamps, papers, etc.
  • And...obviously there are a lot of completed scrapbooks along the bottom.

Here is a closer look at the top shelves.
  • The shelves are from Home Depot
  • On the left shelf, I left room for my iPad.  Love to listen to Pandora while I'm in my craft room.  Right next to it is my embossing powder and tray.
  • On the middle shelf, I have two decorative items from Target and a photo collage.
  • On the right hand shelf, there is a basket that contains supplies that I haven't used yet or want to keep out.  A photo of the boys and then all my acrylic blocks.
  • On the far right is my stand will all my inks.
  • We haven't figured out yet how to cover the water shut off valve :)

Here's a closer look at the bottom shelf.  Thankful for a handy hubby who added the top shelves and anchored the counter top.  You can see there is room for my garbage can now.  The accordion file next to it contains all my scraps.  I am in and out of it a lot.

Now a look inside the cabinets:
  • Across the top:  baskets with embellishments; crochet thread.
  • In the middle:  felt, Hero Art inks and neutral cardstock.
  • On the bottom:  twine, gems, Ranger Distress Inks and mists.

The cabinet on the right:
  • On the top:  extra adhesives, card holders.
  • In the middle:  ribbon and flowers.
  • On the bottom:  more ribbon (kind of a mess!) and buttons.

And...one last photo of the rug in the room...we had a little accident with the chocolate paint for the extra shelving Pat added....so I had to buy a rug from Target to cover it!  Have to say I love the rug!

Hope you like the room!  I'll come back with final photos once we get the counter top added!

And...I can't leave you without a card!  Here's a fun little card for the current Paper Smooches Challenge.  Happy Friday!

Wow--you've done a fabulous job with your craft room!! Love all the baskets!!

Just an idea for hiding your water shut-off valve: a window shutter with hinges so you can open when you need too; hang is so that when it is closed, you can slip some of your cards into the slats to showcase. That way the shutter looks decorative and has some purpose. No one would know it was serving the purpose of covering pipes! Just a thought!

Wow, your room is looking great and will be even better once you get the other bench in - so much room. Cute card and take on the challenge :)

Love your space. Is the shutoff valve recessed into the wall or does it stick out? Just thinking that you could put a cabinet or bulletin board over it.

Stop, enough with the showing off!! No just joking, I am so jealous-what a fab job, oh how I wish I could hide away in there!
Lovely card, all those sweet little hearts x

Your craft room is looking great! How about a magnetic board that will hold tins of embellishments, a picture or a ribbon memo board to holder cards. Can't wait to see it finished, love the rug.

What a warm, inviting space! I'd never come out!! I love the color and that great rug. Thanks for sharing!
I've fallen off the blogger band-wagon. I started working part time and then really injured my back. Just learning to find the balance.

Your room looks great and more functional now! Enjoy. I don't have a room...I have an armoire that I hope to share one day. It's very functional for me but I could sure use an entire room!! :) Love to see practical spaces like yours and not a show room where it looks like it never gets used! Enjoy...

It's funny, but as you took me around the room and I read your commentary...I could feel myself there! LOL Weird! LOVE that basket storage unit!! I see some serious stamping happening in that room now!! Not that there wasn't before, but now you've really got a workable area. Its the organization part that's the best, isn't it? And what an adorable card!! LOVE the inspiration photo and your rainbow of hearts :)

It's so wonderful to get the craft room reorganized, isn't it? Mine still has a bit to be done but I've kinda lost momentum. ;)

I'm a messy scrapper-how about you?

Love all the new space. Those baskets are so neat looking, but hold tons of stuff.

You better be really nice to Hubby. :o)

Lynn, it looks GREAT!! Everything is sooo organized and has its own place :) I have that same rug (smaller size) in my kitchen. The two OTT lights that you have set up, is that where you take your pics of cards? I have one and I tried using it, but it left lots of shadows. Is having two the trick? Also, that is such a GREAT take on the inspiration photo for PS!! I just love it :)
