The Joy of the Lord Is My Strength

Isn't that a beautiful sentiment?  I made this card for no particular reason other than wanting to use this set of Verve Stamps and play along with this week's Play Date Cafe Challenge. I'm thinking I should have used softer color tones for this sentiment, but I'm going with the flow today.  Posting my card even if I'm not satisifed with it.  I have been making a lot of cards where I stamp a script or patterned background and then layer other stamps.   Lots of one-layer cards being created lately!
In other news, this little guy is once again protesting the change of seasons.   Every year when it is time to switch from jeans to shorts or vice versa he throws a protest.  He is definitely a guy of routine even when he is very hot or very cold.  He had big crocodile tears tonight because I made him put his jeans in the wash and he didn't have any other ones that "don't fall down" in his drawer.  He calmed down when I promised that he'd have clean jeans in the morning.  He's done this for a few years.  I'm wondering when he'll grow out of this stage :).

Ditto to what Judith said. Love those leaf images and I like the bold coloured sentiment. If it was softer it might be overwhelmed by the images.

Lovely card Lynn with its layers of ink rather than paper!

man your boys are so cute! I just love your stories. Loving that CAS card too - stamping images over text looks great. Glad you played along at The Play Date Cafe.

what a gorgeous, gorgeous card, Lynn...I love the stamping over the script and I think the colours are perfect :) Oh, my, Jake did the same thing when he was little and around the same age!! It was soooo hard to get him to wear a lighter spring jacket...he kept wearing his winter one well into spring...they are just little monkeys!

I LOVE this card, Lynn. I think the colors are perfect... joyful! Love that it's one layer, too. One perfect layer.
As for the little guy... kids (well, people...) can be quirky. But, look how adorable he is! I'd let him wear whatever he felt like wearing to get a smile like that! :)

Simply beautiful, Lynn! What a great effect with the scripted writing and the gorgeous flowers stamped in the background. Super use of our colors!

I love the stamped layers and I think the colours are just right! I make cards all the time 'just because'. ;) Marcel is so cute! Damian is having the same problem right now. It's SO warm and he insists on wearing long sleeves and pants.

I love using script on cards! And a clean and simple layout looks just perfect with it, too. Nice CAS card, Lynn; thanks for hanging it in our gallery at The Cafe!
