I've been:
- tired
- grumpy
- emotional
- distracted
Doing ten things at once and doing nothing very well at all.
So rather than continuing on this path, I decided it was time to focus on what I am thankful for. I'm thankful for:
- Little boys who still want to cuddle and say I love you even after I have a crazy mom moment and send them all to their rooms. Note to self: four boys trapped in the house because of snow is not good for little boys who love to be outside and a mommy who loves for them to be able to play outside.
- Teenage boys who have their best friend over when mom has her crazy moment and say, "Mom, it's okay...their mom's do that too...and sometimes they are worse." I'll take the back handed compliment.
- My husband who knows how to read my stress signals and gives me a hug at the right time or reminds me not to stress too much about a conversation with a school teacher.
- My mum who tried to help me escape on Sunday by running out for a quick shopping trip (even when I was still really grumpy with the little guys who went with us.)
- For longer days and leaving work when it was still light out a couple times this week.
- For my scrapbooking friends this past weekend, they knew I was tired...and let me just chill and not talk too much.
- For my co-workers...who work really hard too and do a fantastic job.
- For good health, amazing family and wonderful friends both here and in blogland.
And...to be able to have time to create! Here is a quick card for this week's Stampin' 411 challenge. Sneaking it in before the deadline!

Hang in there, Lynn. "This too shall pass." Glad everyone around you is being supportive and hopefully the sky is pretty much snowed out at this point and will take a break! Hugs and... I was gonna say sunshine but it's pouring rain here so hugs and smiles will have to do for now! :)
Thanks for sharing your heart. One thing I know for sure is that everything you do, you do well! So glad to know such a talented person! --Stacey
What a striking card, the colors, the layout, wow, just everything about it! I think I could have written this post myself Lynn (well minus two boys with one being older but what a compliment he gave you!) Thinking about you and hoping that you have time to relax and do what makes you happy this weekend.
Simply Fabulous and now you need to take a deep breath!! I'm glad even though you were crazy busy you still played along and did it beautifully as usual.
Lynn -- I love your "thankful for" list -- thanks for a great reminder to all of us. It's so easy to get caught up in the emotions of each moment. We all have those "mom" moments and thank goodness our children don't define us by those moments! I'm glad you found some time to just be and to do your favorite stress-relieving activity -- stamping! Your card is fabulous! Thanks for spending some stress-free moments with the Operators this week! Blessings, Gretchen
I love this post. I think it's safe to say we've all had days like this. It's so good that you can remember all the things to be thankful for, Lynn! Love your beautiful card! Hugs to you!
Ah...we've ALL had moments (weeks!) like that! Glad you took time to count your blessings! Glad you got a moment to create something beautiful! Thanks for playing this week!
Love backhanded compliments... I take 'em any way they come! Your card is great. Love the way you combined the Mat Stack 2 stamp with another Mat Stack die shape. Looks great!
Hi, Lynn! I stumbled upon your blog and your creations are all beautiful! And hey, I think we both live in the Cincy area!
I feel your pain! I have three boys and between snow days, MLK day, teacher inservice days both Monday and tomorrow...I am a bit frazzled and grumpy with them, too. I had a not so very "mommy" moment yesterday, blew a fuse and apologized profusely for it. It still makes me feel rotten, but we are human, and I was forgiven!
Here is hoping for better days! I think making a "thankful" list is important to do. It reminds us what is really important and just how lucky and blessed we are! :)
aw, sweetie...we all have weeks like that...I usually warn Tony and my class that I'm "cranky" and leave it at that! Sounds like you are over busy and done with winter...I hear ya!! Sometimes a problem shared is half solved...hopefully creating this lovely sweet card helped soothe the conflicts a bit. You are only human...hugs to you, dear Lynn :)
Lynn I'm sorry you're having a stressful time! So I'm not the only one who has those "crazy mom" times????? It will get better, it always does! I just heard on the news that February is typically our snowiest month and my heart sank...really? more snow? Anyway, I'm glad you found a little stamping solace, your card is beautiful as always :)
my boys are outside as we speak, thank you for keeping it real and reminding me to be thankful!
I have had a crazy mom day here! I so sympathize! Love the canvasy background!
Lynn, we all have days and weeks like that but I really enjoyed your heartfelt words. I have three of Richard Carlson's books "Don't Sweat The Small Stuff..." and find his words have been helping a lot in getting me to relax even with all the stress in my life! Your card is wonderful. I love the CAS style and beautiful colours! I hope you're feeling better.
Thanks for sharing your blog lynn - i feel a little better that you and i braved the cold the past two days to run - as much as we have on our plates - making the time to run together is therapeutic! See you Thursday AM:)
OH I love this! That bow is gorgeous! And I have been all of those things too! I needed a good dose of perspective! Thank you! ;)
