The Play Date Cafe

Hello there. Hope your week is off to a great start.  I made a card for this week's Play Date Cafe challenge and I wasn't quite satisfied.  Here is try number one....distressed the paper edges...think I would have preferred if I stitched it...then I inked up the edges around the die cut...definitely liked it better before I did that.  Can you tell the theme in my comments?   I am a clean and simple girl...not so vintagey.  So....I decided I needed to make another card before I entered the challenge!
Ingredients:  Stampin' Up Marina Mist Paper and Pretty Ink Pink Paper/Ink; Basic Grey Eskimo DSP; Stampin' Up Ribbon; PTI Damask Designs and Fillable Frames; Kaiser Kraft Pearls

I tried again...using some more Basic Grey DSP and went with a clean design...much happier with this one.  What do you think?
Ingredients:  Stampin' Up Whisper White; Night of Navy Paper; Cherry Cobbler Ink; Basic Grey DSP; PTI Fillable Frames; Hero Arts Gems

I like them both - don't sell yourself short in the "vintagey" department!

I like both cards, Lynn! The first card is so shabby chic with it's distressed edges and the sencond is very CAS with it's clean lines. Both awesome cards in their own way! Thanks for playing along with us at the Play Date Cafe!

I like them both, but the second one did make me go 'ooo' in pleasure! I love the way you've put the colours together in the first one, and the 'shabby' look, but the second is my favourite, especially the tiny sentiment and bling. Thanks for playing with us in the Play Date Cafe :)

I am drawn to the more clean and simple one, but I like what you did to capture the vintage style.
