Happy Sunday!

Good morning, I have a couple of cards to share this morning.  I had a great night last night scrapbooking with a couple of girlfriends.  It was so nice to sit and catch up with each other.  Plus, I haven't scrapbooked in entirely too long...thankfully I got a lot done!  Jonathon and Marcel's books are caught up...now I need to get onto Collin and Ryan's!

After scrapbooking, I did a couple of fun color challenge cards.  First up is my entry for this week's Just Us Girls challenge.  Love this color combo.  Very subtle, yet can pop off the page at the same time.  I stamped the text on the background first.  I then stamped the floral image in Versamark and then added more distress ink on top of it to have the floral image stand out a bit more.
Ingredients:  Stampin' Up Basic Black Paper/Ink and Very Vanilla Paper, Hero Arts Text Stamp and Floral Stamp, PTI sentiment, twine and kraft paper

My second card today is for the Play Date Cafe Challenge.  I have to admit when I first looked at the colors they stumped me.  However, I opened up a card making kit that I received free several months ago at Archiver's...and there you go...the most beautiful blue paper with a touch of the green.  I added the ribbon and the blue vintage button.  My nana just sent me a whole bunch of vintage buttons and this one goes perfectly.  The rub on "Miss You" sentiment was from the kit too...and this card will promptly be going in the mail to my nana.  I know she'll be as thrilled as I am that I already put the buttons to good use!
Ingredients:  Stampin' Up Baja Breeze Paper and Whisper White Ribbon; PTI Twine; Archiver's TSC Card Kit

I hope you enjoy your Sunday...we're relaxing most of today and then off to have a family picture taken in the late afternoon...Here's hoping the six of us can look at the same spot and smile together!

That button is such a perfect match with the paper you'd have thought they'd come together in the kit - your Nana will be thrilled with this card I'm sure! Thanks for playing along in the play date cafe, I can't get over how much you got done last night, and talking too! [i'm just jealous, I might have got one card done] Fab :)
