Happy Retirement and Happy Birthday Dad

Today is my dad's birthday.  It is truly hard to believe that it has been five years since he passed away.  My whole family worked together for many, many years.  Truly a blessing that we worked together and we got along really well!  There's something about understanding your strengths and differences and supporting and loving one another.  After my dad passed away, my co-workers had Founder's Day on his birthday and we'd start the day off with a breakfast celebration to honor my dad.

Today, I no longer work at the same company (to much travel!), but several of us are getting together to celebrate Founder's Day and to celebrate our friend and co-worker, Tess's retirement.  Tess was my dad's first employee when he started his business and she still works for the company today.  What a wonderful testament to my dad and the many friends/co-workers we had over the years.  I know my dad is smiling down on us all so happy that we are staying in touch.  Happy Retirement Tess and Happy Birthday Dad.  We will smile your smile and your laugh today as always.

For Tess, I wanted to make a retirement card as well as some stationery for her to use.  I played along with the Just Us Girls Color Challenge of red, white and blue.  First up is Tess's card. I used my new Practicing Creativity border stamp for the bottom of the card as well as the flowers that I die cut.  Love the layering on the flowers!
Next are the note cards.  I wanted to do a very clean and simple design.  There are eight cards total in the set with a variety of sentiments.  The design was inspired by Alli's cards at the bottom of this post.  New to her blog and have to say, I love her style!
Happy Wednesday.  Hope everyone is having a wonderful week.  Thanks to the Just Us Girls team for a great challenge!

Ingredients:  Stamps:  Practicing Creativity Circle Border; PTI Daily Design Sentiment, Beautiful Blossoms II, Daily Designs and Mega Mixed Messages:  SU Paper & Ink Real Red, Night of Navy; SU Paper Whisper White; Hero Arts Gems
