Time Out: Thanks

We're back with another challenge at Time Out.  We have a Home Sweet Home challenge that is sponsored by STAMPlorations. The winner will get a $10 gift voucher.  Plus we will do a random draw and the winner of this draw will get the Holiday Expressions:Thankful or the Trendy Leaves 2 stamp set.  I am using the fabulous Trendy Leaves stamps from Stamplorations for my card. I had fun embossing them and then inking them up with a variety of distress inks. I love fall colors!

Below is the inspiration photo that inspired by the fall colors!

Curtain Call: Candy Apple

Hello!  The new school year has started and we have the perfect back to school/fall challenge for you at Curtain Call: Candy Apple.    I have a couple apple stamps, but decided to play along using a die cut from my Cricut. I don't use it often enough!  So I die cut the apple and water colored it a bit before stamping the sentiment.  A perfect card to have in the stash for a teacher thank you card!  All of the boys are back in school and activities are picking up. Jonathon is in cross country, youth group and robotics.  Collin is in show choir and Marcel is in voice and acting lessons. And Ryan is off at college!  No shortage of happenings around here :)!

Thanks

Several weeks ago I received the new Stampin' Up catalog, but I really hadn't had a chance to look through it yet.  We had a rainy Sunday so it was a great day to look through it.  I really miss PaperCrafts magazine...going through and turning pages of cards that inspired me in the magazine.  So this card was inspired by the magazine. There are a lot of cards with soft water color stripes.  It was the perfect opportunity to play along with CASology by making rows of stripes.  I then used my Misti to stamp the sentiment (best invention ever for those thicker sentiments) and no surprise using my new WPlus9 stamps from yesterday.

Besides Pinterest...do you have a favorite place to go for inspiration?

Time Out: Thanks

We're back with another challenge at Time Out.  Therese Calvrid is this week's CASE designer. Her blog is Lost in Paper and check out her gorgeous card below.  I mimicked her card pretty closely.  Instead of water color stripes, I used vellum stripes.  I love her gorgeous Altenew flowers. For my card I used MFT Fall Florals and a Simon Says sentiment.

Card Deets

  • A6 topfold landscape (finished size 10.5cm X 15cm)
  • Cut another piece of cardstock to the same size and add wide watercolour stripes added with Altenew Peach Perfect (diluted with water and painted).
  • Die cut a dot edge on the vellum with Paper Smooches – Dots & Dashes wise die. And adhere this on an angle and behind the top of the panel and fold over the front of the card. Cut off the excess edges on each side. (I added some tape behind where the flowers were going to be). Adhere this panel to card front with atg.
  • White emboss the sentiment from Altenew’s Magnolias for Her.
  • Stamp X 2 flowers and X 3 leaves from Altenews Beautiful Day (inks – MFT Hybrid Steel Gray / Sour Apple – Dye inks Limelight / Coral Crush / Peach Bellini) Die cut these and use double sided tape to add them to the card front. Pop up the top flower only with foam tape.

Curtain Call Reminder: Thanks

It's time for a new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge! I had so much fun playing along with this challenge I had to make another card.  These pineapples are from Concord and 9th. I love their stamps and this set is no exception. The sweet little flowers that go with them are perfect.

Make sure you visit each of the designers' blogs for more inspiration!

Thanks a Bunch

I mentioned Saturday that I had time to play along with some challenges. I also cleaned up my crafting space a bit and found this Altenew flower I stamped on my stamping weekend back in February along with the twine that came with some new stamps.  So...it was the perfect time to play along with the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge:  Thanks Twine.  I love a good, clean, crisp thank you card and my stash needs several more of these!

Work Thank Yous

One of my favorite things to do is give co-workers cards when they go above and beyond.  So...last week I needed a trio of cards.  The first two are for two guy co-workers who are finishing up a really big client project. They have been really focused on paying attention to the clients needs to make sure they have a great experience. Made them super CAS since they are for guys. The first one combines PaperSmooches and Verve stamps.  And the bottom one is all Verve Stamps.

This card went to a co-worker who is simply a gem....but she's moving to Florida so I needed a going away/thank you card for her. Used Verve stamps for the flowers and a retired Craft's Meow sentiment.

And here's my question for today?  Do you have a group of people where you regularly provide cards?

Dream Big

We are officially six days from Ryan's high school graduation. He takes his last exam tomorrow and the younger boys all finish school for the summer on Friday.  Life is good with lots of end of year activities.

The two cards I have to share today are for graduation. The first one one top is for the CASology challenge and goes to my sister-in-law. She made a ton...and I mean a ton of cookies for Ryan's graduation party.  I am beyond thankful for her. She loves to bake...so this card will be going to her with a gift card for one of her favorite places.

The second card is going to a dear friend's daughter for her graduation. She reads  my blog (Hi Katie :)!).  So wish we still lived in the same city so we good celebrate together.  Miss her tons! Playing along with Tracey's gorgeous card over at Muse.

Okay...that's it for tonight!  Off to get ready for the work week ahead.

Ingredients:
Stamps: PaperSmooches Reflections and Thanks Set, Verve (Dream Big)
Stencil:  Tim Holtz
Inks:  Impress Fresh Ink

Musical Thanks!

With the end of the school year, I'm always in need of teacher thank you. Over the weekend, I needed to make five thank you notes for the three directors and two parents who put a ton of time in support of our show choir programs.  So...I thought I'd share them all at once with you. The picture of us with Ryan above is in his last show choir event this past weekend. The kids performed a Beatles show. They were truly amazing. A little bitter sweet as I am going to miss seeing him perform!

This card below is for the  mom who takes care of all the performance outfits for over 150 students. To say she is amazing is the biggest understatement of the year. She puts in countless hours to make sure they look pristine on stage!

And this is for the dad (whose wife is the costume person!) who makes sure all the musical and stage equipment is set. He's incredible too...building sets, teaching the student crew and overall being fantastic

This card features the logo of our show choir.  Since we live in Loveland, we have a heart and we also have a big star with three smaller stars representing the three show choirs.

Time Out: Thanks

We're back with another challenge at Time Out...and a big Happy St. Patrick's Day to all of you!  We have a beautiful inspiration card from Marjan.  I love that her card is almost 100% stamped and the colors are so soft and subtle.  You can see how I was inspired to make a very CAS design.

Be sure to pop on over to the Time Out Blog to check out how our design team was inspired by Marjan's stunning card.

You’re Awesome!

I am in a lot of meetings at work...some times too many meetings, but I always love to watch people participate and grow. One particular co-worker is blooming before my eyes.  She is a new leader...coaching her people...presenting trends...and setting a fantastic example.  She loves all things pink, so I wanted to make her a note to both say thank you and congratulate her on a job well done.

This week's CAS(e) this Sketch was the perfect opportunity to make a card for her.  No surprise that I took a graphic card and used flowers.  This is the first time I've crafted since my craft weekend three weeks ago.  All my prior posts were made at that weekend of earlier.  So happy to grab a little crafty time tonight!

Time Out: Merci

Time is flying by and it's time for another challenge over at Time Out!  We're back with our home sweet home inspiration photo challenge. I immediately knew I wanted to use my PaperTrey Ink set that has the Eiffel Tower image in it along with my Hero Arts French Script stamp for the background.  I embossed the Eiffel Tower and then added distress ink around it to add a touch of color. This card was made several weeks ago and sent to my mum as a thank you note for a wonderful Christmas.  My dad's side of the family was French so we quite often say Merci and Je t'aime to one another.

There is so much to be inspired from this photo. I'd love to see you play along with us at Time Out.  Pop on over to the blog to check out the design team creations!

Time Out: Grateful for You

It's the second week of our challenge over at Time Out.  I'm still oohing and aahing over Marika's card.  Last week I went much subtler with my colors. This week...the card colors pack a punch.  Love the layout of Marika's card so I think you can see how I was inspired again! I had fun playing with my water colors and die cuts for this card.

Be sure to pop on over to the Time Out blog to take a closer look at Marika's card as well as the design team cards. We'd love for you to play along with us!

Thanks

Happy happy Monday my friends.  We had a fabulous weekend celebrating my dear friend, Danielle's, wedding. So wonderful to see two people find love after both losing their first spouse to cancer.  I'll share pictures in a few days when I get a bit more organized.

I couldn't miss playing with the MUSE challenge this week. I absolutely loved Tracey's inspiration card below. The colors are fabulous.  So crisp and clean.  My card didn't really translate from my head to paper, but I'm okay with the end result.

I hope your week gets off to a great start. I'm heading to Dallas for a few days for work.
