Happy Friday...I'll be hopping on a plane early this morning to head home from a work trip. Looking forward to getting home and catching up on a few things this weekend. My card today is for the most recent Totally Hues Challenge. Clearly, I continue to be on a ribbon kick using up some more of my favorite Stampin' Up ribbon and playing along with more delicious Verve stamps. If you look closely, you'll see I also embossed the pink panel. Any tips out there for making the embossing folders really pop on your paper using a Sizzix? Mine don't seem to emboss as well as others I've seen out there in blog land.
Short and sweet today since I'm on the road...Have a fabulous weekend!
PS Glad to see I'm not the only preppy 80s girl out there...loved your comments from yesterday! Jill...I loved Pappagallo...what an awesome job! :)

That is one of my favorite quotes of all time and to have it one a card makes it even better.
ReplyDeleteSo soft and beautiful, Lynn! As far as the embossing goes, I have a cuttlebug and there are times I have had to add another piece of paper or two, on top of the folder to make it a bit thicker when it's run through the machine. Not sure how the Sizzix works or if you could do the same thing with it. Have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteEep, this is absolutely gorgeous!! I love your take with these colors! So yummy!
ReplyDeleteoh, this one is just full of everything I love!! That pink ribbon is da bomb!! I use a cuttlebug and have no problem with folders, but my impression plates don't work that well. I suggest a shim like Barb...OR get a cuttlebug or big shot...wait for a 50% coupon at Michaels...I noticed the Cuttlebug there has a new design :)
ReplyDeleteJust mesmerizing, so soft and pretty! Lovely sentiment! Enjoy your trip back!
ReplyDeleteWhat a comforting card. The ribbon is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHave you tried some thin cardboard shims (cutting up a cereal box) to help your embossed image stand out more? I have a Cuddlebug so I don't know if it will work with a Sizzix.
(The Pappagallo job was wonderful during time home from college. I made a comission also. It was great then!)
This is so gorgeous, Lynn! Love, love, love. the green leaves behind the verse makes it even lovelier. Wow, that's a lot of love in these three sentences. LOL Sometimes I use 1-3 layers of cardstock to 'lift' the plate into the folder or die cut but it doesn't always work. I use a QuicKutz but I think that trick should also work for you!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card (and bow)!! Love the sentiment, too :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Love the soft pink and your gorgeous bow Lynn! :)
ReplyDeleteSo soft and lovely!!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, Lynn. Love that wide ribbon. Perfectly tied!
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous, Lynn. I love that quote - where is the stamp from? You ribbon is tied so perfectly too!
