Praying for You

Sneaking in under the wire for the current Verve Diva Dare.  I had to play along with the blooms and butterflies challenge.  I love a good all inky card and once again used my favorite coral that I can't seem to get enough of right now.  The inking on the leaves feels a little harsh to me as I combined the colors, but it is good enough to share (it can't always be perfect!)

As I type this up, Collin is up in his room practicing for a book report he has to do this week. He is my shy one and my heart is just breaking for him.  He does not want to speak in front of his class.  Trying to give him encouragement as I know he'll do great once he gets going.  I remember the feeling of not wanting to do speeches.  It is so much better that our schools get our children speaking in front of audiences earlier, but it definitely isn't easy for everyone.  I'll be cheering him on from afar!  Edited to add:  I typed this up on Sunday....he did his speech yesterday.  When I got home from work, he was very proud and shared that "My speech was awesome.  They asked me a lot of questions.  So many questions that I didn't have time to answer them all.  And I wasn't even nervous."  Way to go little man!

Such a pretty card...LOVE the colors!

Yay for Collin! As a Momma you knew that he would do fabulous but it's icing on the cake when HE says that it was awesome :)

I can totally relate to Collin's fear of speaking in public - my oldest, Erich, went through the very same thing - so happy Collin did well! Yay! ♥

Love your beautiful card, Lynn!

oh, I like the look on the leaves...very artistic! A perfect card for the Dare! Congrats to Collin for being brave...now he'll know he can do it next time even though he'll be nervous. I am the same way but I'm learning as I present my assignments in class :) ox

An elegant card with a beautiful lay-out! And don't put away the coral yet; I like the color and will try to buy that colour this weekend... (Seldom that I find myself wanting a specific colour, but hey, I could blame you...? :)
Top that Collin did so well! Our daughter is the same way, but that early learning to speak in front of the class is something she is glad for (at 13 years) now... Hugs, Gerrina

Hooray for Collin! So many people are terrified of public speaking; I'm not one of them, and sometimes it gets me in trouble! Last fall at a regional church thingy, I gave the introductory/welcome speech. Later that day, the regional board director asked me to become one of their board members! She said I was too good at speaking not to! Had to laugh and say no. Now as to your card... Simply stunning and I'm loving that coral color too. And I like the leaves; they have good interest! Bev

Awww, way to go, Collin!! My Ali is also very very shy, and it breaks my heart at times. I wish I could wave a magic wand and make life easier for her, but that's not how they grow and learn, is it. Your card is beautiful, Lynn, it has a light, airy, whimsical feel about it that I just love!

I totally agree that it is a great idea to get kids up in front of the class early but it is tough! I remember my first speech, nervous Nelly was I but I got hooked and got the public speaking bug later! This card is AMAZING. (good enough to share...CRAZY!) I love the inking on the leaves and I think it is really interesting. LOVE that coral!
