When I started this blog, I wanted to use it as a way to capture those every day moments with our family that make me smile. One of those moments is the bedtime routine I have with Marcel. Marcel and Collin share a room and most nights Marcel makes his way straight up to bed, but Collin requires quite a few reminders to brush his teeth, get his jammies on and get in bed :) Once they are there, I'm not always in the most patient mood (yes this is an area for me to improve), but what I do once they are in bed is always consistent. An I love you, a kiss and a butterfly kiss on their cheek. There is always competition about who gets the kisses first and if I give an extra to one there has to be an extra for the other. And then the conversation goes like this:
Marcel: "Mommy, remember give me a kiss and a butterfly kiss before you go to work tomorrow. And don't forget."
Me: "Okay buddy, I won't forget."
And then in the morning when I do kiss them...he may or may not even move from his sound sleep, but if he does, this is our routine.
Me: "I love you Marcel. I'll see you tonight after work."
Marcel: "Okay mommy, I'll see you tomorrow."
I love how little kids have no sense of time...to him, dinner time is tomorrow. So sweet...and he is so consistent...every single night I get my reminder to kiss him in the morning. I'll be so sad when he outgrows this sweet little routine. May he always want my kisses!
And here's a card to share with you today. This card is for the Gingham Challenge over at Moxie Fab. The crocheted flower is one I made. Don't look super close, but I'm pretty pleased with how it turned off. Crocheting was one of the things my nana taught me to do when I visited her last month. I have to get the crochet needles out again soon so that I don't forget!
