With Gratitude

Happy March 1st!  Time sure is flying this year.  I think we say that every year though.  Over on the CARDS blog, Paige challenged us to make a quilted card.  I put the brads to go along with the My Mind's Eye paper back and had yet to use them. I decided to punch out several hexagons in the patterned paper and add the brads.  The butterfly in the middle is a brad too.  Now...I need your opinion? Where would you have placed the sentiment?  Now that it is stamped, I'm looking at it thinking maybe I should have centered it.  But...no redos happening here.  I'll just have to roll with it.

And...I can't leave without passing on several thank yous. I've been chosen by three bloggers for the Liebster Blog Award.  I simply adore blogging and want to pass a big thank you to all of you in particular:  Kristen, Chunyuan and Janet.   Be sure to stop by their blogs and check out all of their gorgeous creations!

Happy Friday Eve to all of you!

Hmmm... a tricky one in terms of sentiment placement. Centered might have worked and would have been like the top of the pyramid of hexagons. I think I like it to the side though. The papers and the brads are gorgeous!

Great card! Who makes the Hexagon punch?

love the brads and the paper and congrates on being chosen by the bloggers-you deserve it. Now you are the expert and I think the sentiment looks great but if I was going to centre it I would do it at the bottom to give a clean line at the top of the card?

I LOVE this soft, color palette! It's one for the books! And those hexagons are fantastic! As for the sentiment... I like it to the side, but I think I would've put it below the hexagons. BIG hugs!

beautiful faux quilting!! I was trying to remember what the challenge was...but then got distracted and never looked it up! I love the soft colours, like a baby blanket. Hmmm, tricky question. Maybe at the bottom in the center? But I'm with you, no redos and the person who gets it will never know, they will just love this fabulous card :) hope you're feeling a little better today ...hugs :)

This is so pretty! The brad centers really make the card, and the soft colors resemble a sweet baby quilt. I hate it when I *almost* finish a card and can't figure out where to put a sentiment. I like that you broke up the symmetry by placing it off-center, but I agree with Maureen that centered at the bottom might be nice, too. Either way, it's lovely!

Truly love the look of this "quilted" card. I think your sentiment looks fine where it is.

The mind's eye paper is soft & lovely too.

ooo I love those hexagons Lynn are they punches or dies?? Beautifully soft colours and I think the sentiment looks great where it is....this could so easily be me asking the same question, I don't even plan for the sentiment until the last thing sometimes :0)

Lynn, this card is great!! I love the soft colors and the 3D hexagons with the brads in the middle...looks awesome! I do like where you have the sentiment, maybe I would have done it to the bottom right under the hexagons or the bottom left, I think centered would have taken away from the beautiful butterfly.

Oh don't ask me about sentiment placement - I wouldn't have a clue seeing as I omitted one completely from my last card! LOL! I like your sentiment there anyways :)
I'm really lovin' your fun, trendy hexagons and gorgeous colours - so soft but still pack a punch!
Hugs!

I really love that hexagonal pattern with the sweet papers and love the layered butterflies! You put your brads to really good use! I have a ton of brads, I have no idea what to do with them really! Great inspiration!

This card makes me go "aaaah" - it's so pretty! Just love those hexagons and the papers you chose, as well as the brads and center butterflies!! Definitely reminds me of a quilt, which is one of my favorite things in the whole world! I don't think there's a "perfect" place for the sentiment - that would have been a tough decision for me. I think it's very eye appealing where it is! A truly beautiful card.
