Where Does the Time Go?

Where does the time go?  My oldest baby, Ryan, will start high school next year.  I can still remember my baby boy with the biggest eyes in the world who as a toddler used to stand at the back door wanting nothing more than to go outside and play.  Or the sweet little first grader who was terrified to go to the soccer field because my beloved Uncle John had told him stories about the wiggly, wobbly jelly that lived in the woods.  There were woods at the soccer field!  And the young boy who worked so hard to become a strong baseball player.  And...now the teenager who is funny, confident, working hard and trying all kinds of new things:  show choir and now a part in the school play.  I'm proud of the young man he is becoming.  We spend a lot of time talking about making the right choices in life.  As he grows up, good and bad choices will cross his path.  I pray that he continues to make good choices and that any stumbles he has along the way don't set him back too far.  Pat and I keep learning as we go through the journey of parenthood.  Learning day by day when to step in and when to let his wings fly.  Tomorrow night we attend a parent night for high school scheduling....we are encouraged to work together on his schedule the four years...so that he is ready for college. College.   I know when I blink college will be on our doorstep.  So as the time goes by quickly, with each boy, I try to remind myself to cherish the little things and let each of them grow their own wings.  Oh how I love my boys.

Thank you my dear friends for letting me get my thoughts out today :).  And now onto a trio of thank you cards.  My mother-in-law asked for some thank you cards. She's Irish and she loves all shades of blue...so here you go...three different cards that I duplicated to give her a set of 10 total. Hope you like them!

All are so beautiful, Lynn; but I especially like the last one. Maybe the fine, worn damask? I don't know...so pretty...

I always love reading the way you write when you have your boys on your mind and in your heart. High school - wow - the time really does go by so fast! My youngest will be a senior next year and I still can't believe it. It's funny, because you can be so proud and so sad, all at the same time. I know you know what I mean. There are times I still wish my boys were little, or that I could at least go back in time and relive some of those special times. So it's good that you're remembering to really cherish those times. Keep taking lots of photos, and continue to be the awesome mom that you are!

I love your beautiful thank you cards! Sending hugs, Lynn! :)

Oh my, all three cards are GREAT!! What a nice set for your MIL! So interesting to read about watching your boys grow up. It goes WAY too fast! I had a little 6 yr. old here this weekend, and she asked me if I had any kids. When I showed her a picture of Cristina, she said "she's not a kid!" I laughed....my "kids" will always be my precious little ones, no matter how big they get.

Where does the time go indeed? It seems to pass so quickly even though we try to live and enjoy each day! High school is huge step that leads to an even bigger step! :> My nephew will be also going to hs and when I started dating my husband he was a toddler like my son! Seems like just days ago! Love our cards for you MIL love the cute shamrock and how you used blue, good for her for using thank you cards!

Gorgeous cards for your mother-in-law. That striped shamrock is so cute and the "bouquet" on the second one is gorgeous.

I love reading about your boys and you are all so inspiring as a family - so much love and support. A beautiful family inside and out!

Hello Lynn,
May I ask about Ryan's age? Our eldest is getting 15 in two weeks.
15! Time seems to fly (but only when everything is all right - and it is (-;) He has to make choises too. He would like to become an acteur, but we would like to see him doing something else, hihi
But, let's wait and continue to pursue discussions.

Greetings, Judith

PS: lovely cards, especially the green one

*sigh* time flies by so fast, doesn't it?! Seems like only yesterday I was holding my niece in my arms, scary to think I now teach her at secondary school!
It sounds like Ryan is making the right choices, and that Pat and yourself are doing a great job guiding him!
Your cards are fabby! I adore the sweetness of the first, the awesome stamping on the second and the gorgeous use of DP on the final one!
Hugs!

Your work is gorgeous, love the designs you create with your PTI stamps, I have so many I've never used, but I believe you're cards will inspire me. I've pinned the blue card in the middle to my Pinterest, thanks so much.
