Inspired by...

I don't use my felt nearly enough, but when I saw this week's ColourQ challenge, it was the perfect opportunity.  I had three fairly similar colors in my neglected felt stash!  For this ornament, I was inspired by three gorgeous creations:
- Maureen's card here.  I love how she added the holly leaves to the snowflake.
- Christina's coffee cozy here.  Isn't all the soft felt delicious?
- And Kathy's ornament here.  I love the warm feel of this ornament.

So all three went together to come up with this ornament.  I added a touch of Crumb Cake ribbon, die cut the snowflakes with my PTI dies (I need to use these more often...) and hand cut the holly leaves so excuse the unevenness of them!  Added a couple of buttons and a touch of twine.  To make the ornament a little sturdier I punched out three circles of kraft cardstock and adhered them all together on the back.  Glossy Accents was my adhesive of choice to piece this all together.  Hope you like it!  I had a sleepness night Tuesday night so I got up and made this!  Does that happen to anyone else?!

I agree with Jay Gee....gorgeous! (you make me want those snowflake dies).

Wow! What a perfect gift or ornament to keep for yourself. With it being out of felt I can just imagine the warmth it portrays in real life. I have many sleepless nights, often times because I'm try to come up with something new and clever to show on my own blog...

aw, thanks for the sweet shout out! I told you you would love the felt...isn't it dreamy? And perfect for an ornament, great idea! I'm laughing about those hollly leaves...will we ever buy the dies? LOL Is it worth the 3 cards we'll use on them each year? Maybe! We're making gingerbread houses today in class...I'm getting them all looped up on sugar and then I'll send them home for the weekend :) Fireplace is almost done...am going to try and sneak in some studio time tomorrow :) Miss my stamps :) Hugs!

Love your pretty, felt snowflake, Lynn! I don't usually have "sleepless" nights, but I am quite the night owl, staying up way too late every night. It's neat that if we can't sleep, we have something fun to do! :)

Absolutely beautiful, Lynn! I'm thinking if I had these dies I'd have to make a tree full of these ornaments. Love the button berries! Thanks for the shout-out, too!

fab decoration Lynn-love the colour combo of the snowflakes. I hadn't thought of crafting when I can't sleep but sounds better than what I do-lie thinking should I get up and have a cup of tea, read or listen to the radio? Will try your solution next but bet I can't make something as gorgeous as this dec x

Beautiful ornament, Lynn! I love the look of felt, but rarely pull it out either. As a young girl, I remember there being a lot of felt ornaments on our tree. :0)
