Dad You're REEL Great! (and my little elf...)

I think I mentioned that I did a little shopping on Black Friday.  One of the items that hit my cart was the Paper Smooches My Guy stamps!  Being mom to four boys...this set really was a "must have"!  Or at least that is what I told myself!  I had to look at this week's Tic, Tac, Toe challenge from CAS-ual Fridays a few times before deciding what combination to pick...but then decided on the kraft, polka dots and orange challenge.  Hopefully when Pat is out fishing he catches more than a gold fish, but I thought this was pretty darn cute!

Now, I also want to share about my time out with Collin on Saturday.  Having four boys and working full time means that one on one time with my boys doesn't happen often enough.  However, this past Saturday, Collin had First Reconciliation class.  When I woke him up on Saturday, he quickly asked if we could go out after church to pick out Christmas presents for his brothers.  He was extremely sweet.  He knew exactly what he wanted to get Jonathon and Marcel and needed a couple of suggestions for Ryan.  When we were in the check out line, he realized he'd forgotten Pat.  He asked, "doesn't daddy need new glasses?"  Yes...he keeps "out growing" his reading glasses, but I had no idea what his prescription would be.  So, he picked out a pack of gum.  Then later in the day thought, "we should have bought daddy guitar strings, that would be perfect.  But I'm not sure what kind he would need."  So thoughtful my sweet boy as Pat would love guitar strings!  Then, later in the day, "Mommy, this is my first time being an elf. It's really hard to keep a secret like elves do."  When we got home, he suggested that he hide the gifts in his Toy Story suitcase. I had to go in the house on the "look out" for his brothers.  A few hours later he was down in my craft room with his suitcase and wrapped up all the gifts.  Back in the suitcase they went...we'll see how this little elf does keeping the secret for a few weeks!

And here he is on our day out together...when we're one on one, I'll pay for a few video games :)

Hello Lynn,
I enjoyed reading your blogpost today. How lovely of your sweet son to think about his brothers and father! I love this season of the year. Here in Holland we celebrate 'Sinterklaas' on the 5th of december with presents, poems and a surprise. That means, 'wrapping' your gift on a special sometimes funny way. My youngest son, 9 years old, made a Double Do XL (cutting/embossing machine) for me. So cute! I'll post a picture on my blog soon.

Your card is wonderful! Like the combination of orange and kraft(?)!

Have a nice day,
greetings, Judith

Love the design and the colors and wow, just everything about it. Each of your designs are so unique, it is so much fun visiting and seeing what you come up with. Thank you for taking the time out of your day as a mom to four boys and a full time employee to create amazing things to share.
