Just Us Girls Template Challenge

Happy Saturday...it's time for another challenge at Just Us Girls.  This week the super talented Andrea is challenging us to make a card box and card set.  Now don't worry...the card box is super easy.  Literally takes about ten minutes to create.  The easy to follow tutorial is right here

Now...before we get to my box and card set, let's chat for a bit. How many of you have become addicted to the 6x6 paper packs and abandoned the larger 12x12 scrapbooking paper?  I would say a definite yes to my question!  However, for this card set and box, I used about 1/2 of one page of 12 x 12 paper. I think the 12x12 paper that has a large repeated pattern is perfect for paper piecing and stretching your supplies a long way.  That is how this set came to life.  Four cards (originally five, but I already sent one :)!) and the box all from a 12x12 sheet of Basic Grey Out of Print paper.  Like the box, the cards were easy to create too:  paper piecing, stamping (Verve stamps) and inking a bit of the edges.  A perfect gift!

We'd love for you to play along...please stop by and check out the gorgeous creations from the other design team members!

Great tip and beautiful results-what a gentle reminder for those of us who have neglected the larger papers.

Hey Lynn! Love all variations of this card, it's really inspirational and I love those flowers. I'm with you on the 6x6, for cards I just love those little pads! This box is so pretty, too, what a great gift this would be! So sorry I am so late returning comments, we had 22 here for Thanksgiving and spent all day yesterday decorating for Christmas, I am soooo tired! Hope you are having a stellar weekend!! *hugs* :)

I agree with you ..I love the 6x6 or the 8x8 instead of the 12x12 much easier and takes up less room for a card maker:-) I absolutely LOVE your set its so me!!!!

oh, this is just the sweetest set of cards! LOVE that verse and how you've used it on each card...one of my favs for sure :) I'm sitting in the new studio with my lovely desk and chair :) We do need to raise the desk about 3 inches so are thinking of adding little feet to the book shelf...other than that I LOVE it!! Lots of room for stamping guests :)

Beautiful what you did with the BG papers! I have to admit, BG, although so pretty and popular, is sometimes a bit difficult for me to use. I've had some of their chipboard stickers and I have no idea what to do with them...your inspiration is perfect!

Lynn, these are gorgeous and such a great way to use up some of that big patterned paper! And also a less bulky embellishment than chipboard. Love it!

What a great idea to stretch a single sheet of DP to make a cohesive card set. So pretty Lynn!
