Celebrate Your Day!

Hello there!  The ladies at Just Us Girls are celebrating their 100th challenge!  So...my card today is for the Just Us Girls sketch challenge.  I inked up my PTI Mehndi Medallions and heat embossed the image.  I then had some fun inking up the back panel with Ranger Distress Ink.

Now...I had a bit of a crafting crisis when I made this card!  I was going to use my SpellBinder Die and emboss the edges of the oval, but when I started to crank my Sizzix, the arm broke off.  I thought maybe it was just unscrewed, but it actually broke! So..I'm without one right now...and this is where I need your opinion.  I love my Sizzix, but am wondering about the VagaBond?  Anyone out there have one?  What do you think?  I'd love to hear from you on this!

I love the colours on this card - especially your inked background!
What a tragedy with the Sizzix!! I would have been saying some VERY bad words if that happened to me... Can help with your question though as I have a Cuttlebug. I've never hear of the VagaBond so I'm going to torment myself and go look it up! :)

I love his card Lynn. The colors are perfect as well as the design. All I know about the Vagabond is that it is pretty expensive. I will look forward to what you find out also.
Have a great day.

First up, LOVE the colours and that gorgeous ribbon...AND mendhi medallion has made it into my shopping cart (how'd THAT happen?!). Second!! Tragedy in the studio!! YIKES!! Funny you should break your big shot...I have a brand spankin' new one in storage waiting for the new studio...I hope it holds up. I've been using my trusty little Cuttlebug for over 5 years...no problem. I've cracked a few plates, but otherwise it works great...so it really was a splurge to get a Big Shot :) Never heard of Vagabond...who makes it? I would do a product search over on Splitcoast...very helpful when I looked into the Grand Calibur. Kids arrive in 20!! Wish me luck!!

Your Mendhi looks amazing Lynn! I still haven't inked that sucker up! As for the Big Shot......I do. not. know. what. I'd. do. without. it. I think I use it for every single card! And to think it sat there for a LONG time after I bought it until PTI came out with their dies! The rest is history! hehe I LOVE my Big Shot!! Sorry, no help with the Vagabond.....except I know that I've seen it at Michaels.

Your card is absolutely gorgeous~! As you probably know I am a Big Shot girl all the way, I just bought the Big Shot Pro and love it. I only have two dies so far but the beauty of it that I can load seval dies at a time and this is a life saver when prepping for a class. BTW..if you got your Sizzix from SU they will replace it if you have had it less than a year.

I have a cuttlebug and love that little green thing. Your card is so beautiful despite the tragedy! Love the soft and unexpected color combination.

Totally gorgeous and elegantly striking card. The offset design, colors - it all works!! Thanks so much for joining JUGS for our #100! We appreciate the support and participation.

Oh No! Tradgedy for sure! LOVE the way you used color on this card! So striking! As far as machines, I have a Big Shot and a Cuttlebug and use my Cuttlebug the most. Had a Revolution and gave it away. Had a Cricut and sold it! I did lose a PTI leaf die in my Cuttlebug and ended up buying a new die set because it was my FAV leaf!

Beautiful card Lynn, those medallions look great as bkgd stamping.
I've only heard that the vagabond is a pricey gimmick but then you only tend to hear the bad things about products not the good. I have a sizzix but given my chance again would go for a cuttlebug!

Stunning card, Lynn! I love everything about it! I have been relying on my little CB and it still works fabulously (used 50% off coupon at Michael's in 2008). And now I saw VegaBond at Michael's. I am very tempted!I think the 50% off coupon is calling my name....Good luck on finding the replacement---FAST!

Hi
I just got a Vagabond (I also own a Cuttlebug & a Big Shot which will be sold next week at my LSS garage sale) but so far I"m loving my Vagabond. I watched Tim's video on the versatility of it, and the machine is amazing. It goes right through anything...cork, fabric, grungeboard, grungepaper you nameit, & the vagabond will cut it. I've used Cuttlebug dies & embossing folders, spellbinders dies and Sizzix dies & embossing folders. Everything turns out gorgeous. My DH got me mine for my birthday last week, & I'm thrilled with it. :-)
Any questions you can email me.
