Birthday Wishes for Erin!

Happy Monday! In a couple of weeks, it is my niece, Erin's, 11th birthday! This card was created with her in mind! She is an amazingly talented girl. If you've been around for a while, you've heard me talk about her gymnastic skills. She is crazy talented and has a really strong work ethic. I wish they lived closer so that I could see her compete. It's obviously her in the photo above! She also "walked through" her floor routine when we were in Pittsburgh last week. Although we didn't see the tumbling, I loved seeing her routine.

The other thing I love about Erin is her mom. (my sister-in-law, Gail) Gail is an incredible mom. She has five children and Erin is in the middle. Gail does a great job balancing each child's strengths and activities that they love. Although Erin love gymnastics, Gail keeps the right perspective of competitiveness and fun. I thoroughly adore Gail and what a wonderful mom she is to her children.

Now...let's talk about the sketch for this card...This Viva La Verve sketch made me think! Wow...it is a lot of layers. The background was created with the loopy flowers stamped on a white panel.  My flower panel was inspired by Maureen's card here.  I then just started going with the flow...I love my Verve loopy flower dies!  And...in the end I think I have a card perfect for Erin!

It looks like a perfect card to me! Love that the sentiment panel is just stamped wit the sentiments only, what a nice technique.

Lynn, I love this card! The bright colours are so fun and those loopy flowers (stamps and dies - oh my!) are so cute! The dotty ribbon is the perfect touch. Erin will love it!

What an absolutely beautiful take on that sketch, Lynn! Erin will love this frilly, feminine card, I'm sure!

Please tell her, from one gymnast to another, her form is wonderful in her handstand! Perfectly balanced, strong arms and her toes are even pointed! Brings back some fun memories. . .hugs! :)

Wow, if I tried to do a cartwheel, let alone a hand stand and splits...well, you wouldn't be hearing from me for a good long while! Until I was let out of the body cast! ;) Super cute and colorful card! :)
