Cast All Your Cares on Him

Ingredients:  Patterned Paper:  My Mind's Eye; Cardstock:  SU Whisper White and Real Red; Twine:  The Twinery; Stamps:  Verve and Hero Arts; Ink: SU Night of Navy and Ranger Distress Ink Antique Linen

Today has been one of those grumpy days.  One of those days when you yell at your children in front of their friends.  When they keep asking for more and more, and after saying yes for what feels like the 100th time, you say no, lose it and start yelling.  Yes...yelling in front of their friends like a crazy person.  And then you take their friends home and they still say thank you.  Your son apologizes to them for the "all the yelling."  And their friends respond, "It's okay.  Happens at our house too."  I don't particularly enjoy days like this, but they are reality.  And the good news is there are certainly less yelling days than great days.

My card today is for Jay Gee's Nook Challenge.  I made this a couple of days ago and adored the inspiration photo.  My mother-in-law would love this card as she loves anything with a boat theme and patriotic colors.  The sentiment seems very appropriate today too.   Hope you all are having a fabulous week.

Wonderful card. Love the banner.
Yep, we all have those "Grumpy" days so don't feel to badly. Sounds like your kids and their friends were understanding so it couldn't have been that bad.

Yes, we all have those days. I just admire your honesty in admitting it because sometimes I read blogs and some others' lives just seem too good to be true.
Like the banner and how you double up the twine! Nice nautical touch!

Lynn, we all have days like that, sometimes more often than we prefer but that's life. Your card is amazing! I keep meaning to play with this inspiration photo, too. I love how you tie knots in between the flats of your banners. Great woodgrain background, too!

Ugh! I'm totally getting it, girl! Thanks for sharing! And you're so right... He has all the answers. Why do we even fret :)? Fortunately, even with all our shortcomings as parents, He still has big plans for our kiddos and brings them to fruition. I just keep reminding myself that He wouldn't bring anything into my life and He and I TOGETHER cannot handle.

LOVE your take on the inspiration board, too! That woodgrain has got to be my absolute favorite element, but I adore your twine, knotted banner, too. Well, who am I kidding? I just love it all! Hee!

I even read this post to my hubby to laugh! We are all human and we try our best to be the best mom;s that we can. :> This sentiment is so perfect for this post!!! Love this card!
